Harry... no!

I'm walking down the hallway, but my tail keeps getting stuck on my shoes. Ugh. Emily, the llama, throws a piece of cheese at me. She says, "Ew, get away rat girl!" The stereotype is accurate, rats do love cheese. I pick it up from the floor and bite a big piece of it in her face.  She looks at me with disgust and scatters away with her llama friends.

People have always seemed to pick on me, maybe because I'm small, maybe because rats are thought to be unhygienic. I've never really cared. Being a rat, I have my own share of problems, even without them. I'm small and fragile so the larger animals always trample over me and some restaurants won't even let me into their establishments for fear of "disease." Though I've gotten used to it, none of it is really true. I come from an aristocratic rat family, I'm the top of my class--

I look up. "Sorry," I say to the large, furry, and ominous-looking figure in front of me. Harry Styles. The most popular student at Cherryton Academy, and a wolf, at that. What it must be like to be at the top of the food chain, large, strong, respected. They're all so arrogant. I try to push past him but he doesn't let me. "Excuse me," I demand. I can't see his expression. "Excuse me," I repeat. Suddenly, I feel his big paws grab my shoulder, pushing me to the floor.

I stumble down, and my whole body is shivering. I'm going to get killed. I look up to see Harry's red, beady eyes looking at me like prey. He growls and inches toward me. Just as I feel him put his sharp fangs to my neck to tear my arteries apart, he stops. I feel his breath on my neck; I see his lips curl into a smirk. "Are you scared?" he whispers mockingly. "I've always wanted to eat a rat."

He then gets up  and says, "Watch out, little one," before walking away and disappearing into the hallway. I'm paralyzed on the floor. For the first time in my life, I feel truly weak. What was that?
