He...kissed me... That was the first time I've ever been kissed... Well, it wasn't very pleasant. Ugh. I wonder if he kisses all of his "conquests." Ugh. I hate him with a burning passion. At least I won't be seeing him anytime soon.

I didn't. Well, at least for a few days. I didn't see Harry Styles anywhere. I suppose that's the natural order of things--a potential Beastar has no place talking to a loner rat girl. Without him, I could focus on my studies and not have to worry about much else.

----------------------------------------------------- One week later ------------------------------------------------------

As I chew my soy-turkey sandwich at my nook at the cafeteria, I look at all the other animals around me, laughing with their friends. People assume that because I'm always alone I want to have friends. But that's not true, I enjoy my own comfort. I'm much more interesting to myself than those mindless drones in my class, always cackling on about something idiotic. It's funny, the animals look down on me because I'm a rat, and yet in every quantifiable way I'm superior to them. I guess that's what you get for spending your days doing nothing at all.

"Excuse me?" I look up. It's a cat girl. She's cute, quite popular, but I've never actually talked to her. I think she was in my grade. "C-can I sit here?" she says, as she points to the seat beside me.

I pause for a second. "...why?" I question. She looks taken aback for a second, and then pulls out a smile.

"You're [y/n], right? Just...I saw you were alone, and..." She starts. I cut her off.

"You assumed that I'd want to sit with you? Why?"

"Sorry?"

"I'm not like you other girls. I don't want to sit in a cluster of animals howling over a simple meal. I just want to eat, get through high school, and then leave. I didn't ask you to pity me."

"...I was just trying to be nice. " She growls. I see flash show her sharp canines at me.

"Well, thank you for your service," I say as I roll my eyes. She walks away without looking back and returns to her group of cat-girls. They all look at me and whisper--as if I can't see that they're talking shit about me.

I don't have much of an appetite anymore, and so I return my tray and my food to the cafeteria staff. I suppose I'll just spend the rest of my lunch break in that corner of the library. Alone, and hidden, I love being in that corner. I'm quite small myself, so it's not uncommon that people don't notice my presence. But here, when there's a whole bookshelf cutting me off from the rest of the library, no one can see me. Nobody expects someone to be there.

I open up my math textbook and start doing some exercises. I don't necessarily like math, but I'm quite good at it. I suppose I'll just finish this page and read a book or something. As I'm halfway through the calculus problems, I see someone look over the bookshelf. A giraffe-girl. Of course.

Wait a second...No one should even know this hidden corner exists. Besides, no one even talks to me on normal days. Two people in an hour? Coincidences don't exist

She cocks her head to the side and whispers, "Hello..." She forces a smile, and I smile sweetly back.

"You saw me alone and thought I wanted to someone to sit with, yada yada yada... Okay. Lemme just ask you this, who sent you?" I ask in my kindest voice possible.

"Who sent me?" She tried to look confused, but I could see I'd hit the nail right on the head. Someone did send her, and I had a feeling I knew who it was.

"Hey, I know we both don't care about each other. I don't care if you approached me out of kindness or out of ulterior motives. So, let's just speed things up and tell me?"

"I don't think I'm supposed to--"

"Harry Styles?" She paused and her eyes darted back and forth between me and her friend all the way across the library. Bingo.

"Well, thanks, bye." I grumble. Fuck this guy. I run out of the library without my stuff and look over outside the window. I see a large figure dash behind a tree, but a large, furry tail is too clearly visible.

I stomp down the stairway and force the large door open to the courtyard. I walk to the tree and stand in front of it. "I know you're there."

"Hello, [y/n]." I see Harry appear from behind the tree and smirk. He leans against the tree and laughs, his sharp white teeth shining.

"You promised to stay away from me. You know what's on the line, right?" I laugh. "You can't be the next Beastar."

"I kept my promise." He looks at me innocently, wide eyes. "I stayed away from you. You just couldn't stay away from me."

His lips curl into a seductive grin. God damnit.
