The Majors Mate (A Twilight Love Story)

Prologue

Kiara is being babysat by a neighbor while her parents were out of town for a few days.

Alexandria's P.O.V.

I was washing the dishes from dinner while Kiara was coloring when the phone rang.

(O: Officer and A: Alex)

A: Hello?

O: Is this the Pride residence?

A: Yes, it is. Who's calling?

O: My name is Nick. Chief of police in Seattle.

A: Okay, how may I help you?

O: I'm really sorry to tell you this but Kane and Lana Pride have been in an accident and didn't survive.

A: What?!

I was shocked. I looked at Kiara who was looking at me with a puzzled look.

O: I'm sorry, but it's true.

A: Hold on for a minute.

I took the phone away from my ear and put my hand over it. " Kiara sweetheart go to your room and get ready for bed I'll be there in a minute." I told her as calmly as I could. She nodded and went to her room. Once I heard the door close, I began speaking to the chief again.

A: What about their daughter? She's only 5.

I was leaning on the counter and on the verge of tears.

O: Well, she'll have to go into the system unless another family member claims her. Are you kin to the family?

A: No, sir. And I'm afraid she has no other family. I would take her in but I'm afraid my parents wouldn't allow it.

O: I understand. I'll be sending child services sometime later this week to come and get their daughter but, in the meantime, please keep watching her.

A: I will sir. And thank you for letting me know.

O: You're welcome. And I'm sorry for your loss.

After he said that he hung up.

I put the phone down and stood in silence for a while as tears were falling down my face. The silence broke when Kiara came in to tell me she was ready for bed.

"Alex, I'm ready for bed." She looked up me and tilted her head. "Why you crying?" She asked me.

I looked over at her and almost broke down more. "Come here sweetheart." I told her and she walked to me. "You know how your mommy and daddy went on a trip for a few days?" She nodded "Well on the way there they stopped at a hotel to rest and went to sleep, and they never woke up."

"Y-you m-mean they're never waking up? Are they dead?" She asked as she started crying

To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I would have never thought a girl her age would be able to realize what I was trying to tell her. I looked at her sadly "Yes sweetie, I'm sorry." After I confirmed that they had passed she started sobbing. I pulled her into a hug and comforted her.

"I know, I know. It's alright. But they're in a better place now and they wouldn't want you to cry. You'll see each other again someday." I looked down at her and saw that she had cried herself to sleep. I picked her up and took her to her room and laid her down on her bed and tucked her in. I kissed her head goodnight and went to the guest room that I was staying in. I looked up at the ceiling going over what just happened in the last hour and slowly sleep took over me.

Hey guys, so I decided to write this book because I've been reading so many twilight fanfics that I got the idea to create one of my own. I know that I haven't finished my other book, but I haven't really had any ideas to put into it. I hope you enjoy this fanfic. If y'all have any ideas of things I should put in this go ahead and comment. Also, if y'all have any good twilight fanfics that you really enjoyed post the title. I would love to check them out.

The next chapter is going to have a major time skip. It's going to take place when Kiara finally leaves the orphanage. Also, Alex will most likely not be mentioned again in this book.
