ADJUSTING MY SKIRT I BREATHED IN HEAVILY, my eyes averted to my cell phone as it lit up suddenly. It had been a few days since I first moved here, and me and Jake had started to become closer as friends. It was really nice to have somebody that understood my feelings and had the same interests as me. We'd even planned to do costumes together, I promised to get Devon to join us as well.
'How's your History class?' The notification from him read. I sent back a meme or two because that's usually how we communicated, and then replied 'It's good. You'll never believe the seating chart though, I'm literally sitting right next to you know who.' I sent it and sat my phone down flat on the desk.
Looking up I realized Junior staring directly at me, yes he was seated right next to me for our official seating chart in my History class. "Are we actually going to work on this report, or are you just going to sit there texting your boyfriend."
"First of all, Jake isn't my boyfriend. We're close friends. And second, yes we are Wheeler." I replied in an audacious voice. I pulled the History textbook towards me, writing down a few notes for what I was going to do first.
"Your house or mine?" Junior said, his arms were folded. He looked towards me with a vague and cold expression, I didn't mind this although he didn't bother me at all. "Your house I guess." I didn't really mind going to either but, whatever.
If I was completely honest, I didn't really know much about Junior Wheeler. Besides that he was Jake's cousin and dating the richest popular girl in our High School. The girl that treats Jake like dirt. She doesn't deserve the crown she thinks is on her head.
Junior grabbed the textbook from our desk and I grabbed the papers I'd written a few notes on. He put the book in his backpack and I folded the notes neatly and placed them in my own bag. Interrupting the silence between us was the bell, it rang and I pulled on my backpack standing up.
"Y/n." Junior spoke.
It was unexpected to hear him call out to me, so I slowly turned around. Clenching the strap of my backpack I stared towards him. "Um... " He rubbed the back of his neck, "Let's exchange numbers for the project. And only for that, Lexy can't know."
