YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO THE WEDDING OF...

"Honey, I'm home!"

Nini hears the door close and feels his presence behind her before she hears him.

"Hi baby." Ricky mumbles into the side of her neck. "Did you happen to-"

"Record the game? No need to butter me up, mahal. We'll eat in the living room." Nini smiles up at him, his eyes twinkling in their kitchen light. She giggles as he presses a few kisses on her cheek.

"You're the best." Ricky sings as he takes the bowls of food from her hands. She shakes her head at him, taking the rest of their food and drinks over to their living room floor, where her boyfriend was already situated as the recorded game plays on their TV.

Nini's watched enough basketball games in her life with Ricky, and she's watched Ricky watching enough basketball games to know that his team was winning. Or won, she guessed.

After the game and once they've finished their dinner, they wash the dishes together and retire to bed.

The next day was a Saturday, meaning it was Ricky's time to shine, and the time Nini has 911 on speed dial in case he sets off another fire.

She doesn't have to though, since Ricky decided to cook some of his well-practiced and infamous steak with a little bit of help from her. They settle in their backyard table and start their lunch.

"So, how was the studio yesterday, mahal?" Nini manages to ask amidst shoving the food in her mouth.

Ricky hands her some water, chuckling to himself before answering. "It was good. I'm gonna be working with this new artist, I don't know if you've heard of her though. Ellaine?"

"Ellaine Gomez? Oh, I've heard of her. She's really good."

Nini recalls seeing a few of her videos on Youtube and hearing some of her songs on the radio.

"Yeah, her. She's actually a songwriter, like us, as well."

"Really? That's so cool, I've heard some of her songs and the lyricism is amazing."

"Yeah, I think you would really like her."

The two continue to converse about Ricky's work, Nini's work, and gossip, one of their guilty pleasures. After their lunch, Ricky goes up to their room to take a few work calls while Nini cleans the dishes.

"Okay, what the hell, Ricky?"

Ricky slamming the door was it for Nini. She throws her purse onto the couch and faces Ricky, who was sporting the same look as her.
