Meeting the Eternals

I couldn't believe we were face to face with the Eternals. I had heard some things about them; I knew one of them was a descendant of Thanos. My family would soon get to know the rest of the mysterious immortals.

Thena was the cousin of Thanos; and with what Bucky and I went through, it wouldn't be easy to trust her. She suffered from a condition called Mahd Wy'ry, which made her forget where she was for a minute and she would try to kill everyone around her. Gilgamesh was the only one who could sedate her and bring her back to reality. He was like a kind uncle to everyone in their group.

Makkari is known as "The Fastest Woman in the Universe" she could run at the blink of an eye. She was the peacemaker for her friends, and she was hilarious. I was grateful for her friendship. She even taught Anthony sign language.

Kingo was one of the funniest people I've ever met since knowing Scott Lang. He was a gifted intellect and Bollywood actor. Kingo had superhuman speed, great skills at combat, and he could project cosmic energy.

Druig seemed to be the cynic of the Eternals, but he was incredibly intelligent and crafty. He could invade one's mind and possess it. In addition, he could read minds and

Sprite was an interesting one. She was forever in the form of a child; she had powers that reminded me of Loki's. Sprite could cast illusions to fool her enemies. Kingo would always call her Tinker Bell which drove her crazy; she hated being treated like a child. Behind her stoicism I could sense her sadness.

Phastos was one of the nicest and most compassionate guys I've met. He was the master engineer and he took part in some of the word's most historic events, and he always made sure that no one got hurt; he was so protective of everyone. He was a technopath, meaning he could visualize what he wanted to build in his mind, and make it a reality instantly.

Sersi was the unofficial leader of the Eternals; I could tell she was hesitant of all the responsibility that was placed on her shoulders. Her power was one of the strongest in the group; she had the ability of transmutation, she could change the physical make-up of any object and change it into something else. She could also fly and communicate with the elusive Celestials.

Last but not least, Ikaris; he was the most mysterious out of all of them. He always went off on having to live his life's purpose, but I somehow could tell there was something darker in his mind. He was one of the most powerful of the Eternals; he could shoot lasers out of his eyes, he could fly at an incredible speed. Ikaris had a similar sadness that Sprite had, but his was greater and I could tell it was eating at him.

Interestingly enough, I was fighting the urge to ask Bucky if he had a twin brother because he looked similar to him. "Please, he's nowhere as good looking as me," Bucky laughed when I brought this up to him. "I can't agree more," I said as I kissed him.

Ikaris was married to Sersi and loved her more than anything in the entire universe, but he left her because he wanted to maintain his focus on fulfilling his mission from the Celestials. I knew that broke his heart and all of us knew he still loved her.

My family and I would have the chance to get to know the Eternals, and soon my own powers would begin to develop.

One day, I discovered I had the ability to read minds.

I was helping Anthony with some homework his teacher gave him, when I heard what Bucky was thinking. Man, I thought we were the only defenders of the earth. Now we're working alongside aliens, Sam was right; there is a Big Three.

I giggled when I heard this thought, and Bucky smiled but I could tell he was confused, "What's so funny, babe?" "You're admitting that Sam was right about there being a Big Three." I smiled innocently. "Sadie, I didn't say that out loud." he replied.

"Oh," I answered embarrassed. "Did you just read my mind?" he asked. I looked at my husband with surprise, "I guess I did." "Whoa! Mom can read minds?" Anthony's green eyes lit up with excitement. "Yes, now you can't lie to me and your Dad if we ask you if you flossed your teeth," I said knowingly, and I ruffled his hair.

"That's right, sport." Bucky laughed. "Aw man," Anthony grumbled.

Later, I noticed something that troubled me, while the rest of us were talking and roasting marshmallows around a fire pit, Ikaris was standing off to the side looking cold and sad. I wondered what was bothering him so badly. They really mean it when they say to be careful what you wish for, because I read his mind and I heard something I didn't want to hear. They can't know what I did; it would break Sersi's heart and I don't need to break it some more. I had to do it, I had to kill Ajak.

My blood ran cold when I heard his unintentional confession. I knew Ajak was their leader before she disappeared, but I didn't want to believe Ikaris had killed her.

"Sadie, what's the matter?" Sersi asked with concern. "Oh nothing, just got a little cold." I replied to her. "I'm happy to be of service," Bucky flirted as he put his arm around me and kissed me. "Thanks babe," I flirted and kissed him back.

"Mom. Dad. You're embarrassing me." Anthony face palmed. His witty comment made all of us laugh; even Ikaris gave a chuckle. "So, where's the rest of the Avengers?" Sprite asked curiously. "We don't know where most of them have gone, I do know that Bruce Banner is a professor at NYU and Thor went back into space." I shrugged. "We all kinda went our separate ways after defeating Thanos." Bucky explained. "There's a chance we could be reunited again," I added. "Who would be the new leader?" Sprite interrogated. We didn't expect the Eternals to be such big fans of us. "Honestly, it could be anyone." Bucky told her. "I could lead them." Ikaris said awkwardly.

The Eternals began to roar with laughter, but Sprite sat there with a pained expression.
"Ajak didn't even pick you to lead us!" Druig laughed. I knew I needed to diffuse the tension, "We appreciate the interest, Ikaris," I told him kindly. "You don't have to be nice to him to feed his ego," Thena teased. "My wife sees the good in everyone," Bucky kissed me on the cheek. "You are a good influence on me, Bucky." I kissed him on the lips.

It was a moment of fun before tensions would rise.
