DANS POV
I had just bought brand new cereal and I knew that Phil would be sneaking in as soon as I went to sleep. I had been planning g to propose to Phil for a while now, and I had thought of a super cute way.
I lifted the cereal off the shelf and slipped the ring in the box
The cereal was like cornflakes, but with fruit in it, so the ring just sat perfectly on the top.
I placed the cereal back on its shelf and then I walked towards our room.
'Night Phil!!' I shouted to the lounge
'I heard him shout 'Night love' and smiled. Love.
I closed the bedroom loud enough for Phil to hear, but tiptoed back to the kitchen and placed the bin in front of me in the corner
There was no way Phil could spot me, and plus he had taken his contacts out for the night.
I waited about 5 minutes and was about to give up as I am quite impatient, but I heard the sound of Phil's socks padding softly on the carpet. He always wore socks to bed, and I hated it.
He snuck in, and didn't even bother putting on the light
He reached for the cereal, and scooped out a handful
Before bringing his hand to his mouth, he spotted the ring, the plain gold band
He gasped, and looked at the door expecting me to enter, but I was already on one knee behind him
'Phil?' I said gently
He turned round and set the cereal on the counter, and then he raised that hand to his mouth, a tear dropping
I motioned to the ring in his hand, and he handed it down to me.
He was shaking, but I had a strong instinct he would say yes.
I held the ring in my hand and faced him properly
'Philip, Michael, Lester, will you marry me?'
He started crying even more, and nodded
'Yes, of course, yes!!'
I stood up and put the ring on his hand, whilst kissing his nose softly.
'Dan I love you so much, and words cannot describe how much you mean to me'
'I love you too Phil, I love you so much'
We decided to head to bed, not caring that the light in the lounge was on, or that the cereal was still on the counter, and I especially didn't care, that Phil, my fiancée, had left the cupboard door open.
