Number 34: Let go

Tears were streaming down Jisung's face. Hyunjin was stone faced and was holding a sobbing Seungmin in his arms. Minho was looking calm but if you looked closely you could see the veins popping on his neck. Namjoon was clenching his hand tightly and 2 of the officers with them were looking away and trying to quieten down their sniffles.

The officer Infront of Jisung was stonyfaced and tense like he couldn't wait to get out of there and arrest the son of a bitch.

"Jisung." He called in a soft voice that betrayed his face expression. "Would you please call your dad for me. We'll need him to testify as a witness as well." Jisung nodded and got up. He stumbled and Minho immediately rushed out the room and into the interrogation room and held him and made his way out with Jisung leaning against him.

🚪 JEONGIN🚪

For the past few days ever since dad came back home he's just been either ignoring or he would hit my face every once in a while. Am I really that unbearable to look at?

I was lying in my bed and staring up at the ceiling hearing my stomach grumble. Dad has been refusing to give me blood for the past 3 days saying I should take it from my mate.....

But I can't do that to Chan.

🚓 Police station 🚓

"Sir, should we allow them to go home and continue the investigation tomorrow? It's midnight already." Eunkwang said checking his watch and furrowing his eyebrows at his commander. The guy huffed. "Let our key witnesses go!!? Are you out of your mind chief Eunkwang!!" The guy said looking accusingly at eunkwnag. "What? You can't handle them? Tch and I thought you could endure more."

Eunkwang almost groaned out loud in annoyance. "Sir I will let them go." He said and bowed ninety degrees before speedwalking out the door. He heard the shouts of his commander but ignored it and smiled at the people sitting on chairs. "You all are free to go. You too Seungmin." He said warmly. Walking over to some cabinets and bending he opened them and reached inside. He stood up and walked towards Seungmin.

He draped a blanket around Seungmin and handed him something noone saw. "It's not much. But just know that I and the rest of my team have your backs." He whispered to Seungmin before patting him on the back and straightening up. "Gentleman my colleagues will escort you out of here." Eunkwang said formally gesturing to Peniel and Changsub before briskly striding away.

Seungmin's eyes welled up once he saw what exactly the object was. It was one of his favourite detective books with tons of sticky notes filled with positive messages from many officers in the department stuffed inside.
