Time For School

Today is the day I start school with Mickalie. And also the day that I'll be switching over to the night shift at Freddy's... I'm sooooo excited... That was sarcasm, in case you couldn't tell. Anyway, I'm sitting on the bus, in the seat next to Mickalie. She decided to wear her auburn hair in a side braid today. It's different from her usual ponytail, but it looks nice. Whereas my sandy pale hair is just a scruffy mess, as always. I see some people staring at me. I'm unsure how to react. One boy actually has the audacity to give me a dirty look. I return it right back to him. He looks rather taken aback. Feeling satisfied, I turn my head to look out the window. We're almost at the school.

I step off the bus behind Mick. She leads me to her locker. "You got your schedule in the mail, right?" She asks me.

"Yea, right here," I show her the half sheet of paper.

"Good. You can use this locker next to mine. It doesn't belong to anyone," She tells me. I nod and walk over to the locker. I reach to pull it open and stare at it in confusion when it doesn't open.

Mickalie sees me struggling with the locker and chuckles. "It's locked," She informs me. "You have to put in your combination."

"Combination?" I question. Then I examine the lock. I notice there are numbers and lines on it.

"Yea," She pauses. "Wait a minute... Oh YEA!" Mick exclaims. She walks over and turns the lock in a few different directions. It pops open. She takes the lock off. "There, you should be able to open it now."

"Uh... Okay..." I say, pulling on the door again. "So, how'd you know the combination for this locker?" I ask, getting frustrated, as the door still won't budge.

"This was gonna be my locker, but the door-" She starts, then the door finally flies open. I stumble backwards and fall into a sitting position on the floor. "- gets stuck sometimes..." She finishes.

"Yea, I hadn't noticed," I say, my voice filled with sarcasm as I get up and take out the things I'll need for the day. I put the rest of my things in the locker.

"The combination for that is 19 to the left, 8 to the right, then 7 to the left again," She tells me. I nod and close the locker, putting the lock back on.

I smile and watch Golden put the lock back on. The bell rings. "Well, we don't have any classes together... So I'll see you at the end of the day I guess," I say.

"Alright, see you then," He winks at me and proceeds down the hall to his first class.

I shake my head slightly in amusement and turn in the other direction, heading to my first class.

He's gonna have a long day...
