Golden:
It's lunchtime. I see Justin sitting a few tables over. His face is bruised pretty bad where I hit him yesterday. I'll bet anything he lied about where he got it. Well, to anyone who wasn't there at least. Which would really only be the teachers. Anyway, he's sitting by himself today. I resist the urge to laugh(Um, since when was I so mean?). But I soon have other things to occupy me.The group of boys Justin sat with yesterday, and what I assume to be his usual clique, approach me. They sit down at the same table as me. And here's the shocker. They attempt to engage in conversation with me! And it's really weird, 'cause they're acting like we're BFF's or something.
"Dude, I can't believe you kicked Justin's ass like that yesterday!" One of them says to me.
"Yea, you beat him up real bad! No one has ever done that!" Another interjects.
"W-Well..." I start a little nervously. Thanks for nothing, social awkwardness.
"Man, you put that prick in his place!" Yet another says.
"Wait, I thought you guys were friends," I say questioningly.
"Not really... Well, I mean, we used to be, but he's been a total bitch since tenth grade," Says the one that first spoke to me.
"Oh... Um, if you don't mind my asking, what are your names?" Goddamn, I probably sound really lame. Like, really fucking lame.
"I'm Taylor," That's the one that first spoke to me.
"Phillip," Says the second one.
"Name's Vinny," The third one says.
I smile. "I'm Golden. Nice to meet ya. Oh, and just for the record, I don't start fights on a regular basis."
They laugh; I join in. I guess making a few friends isn't as hard as I thought...
Mickalie:
I'm just waiting for that bell to ring. For school to be over. I look over at Jenna, who sits next to me. She has her sketchbook, and she's drawing something. Though I can't see what it is, I know it'll be amazing. She's the best artist in the school. Seriously, we had an art competition."What're ya drawing?" I ask quietly.
"Well, right now, I'm drawing you," She responds, not lifting her eyes from the paper.
"Cool. What're you gonna draw after that?" My ever persistent, annoying self at it again.
Jenna smiles, blushes, and doesn't respond, keeping her eyes on the sketchbook.
I look at her, then smirk. "It's gonna be him!"
"Wh-what!? No! I'm not gonna draw Golden! Are you crazy!?" She replies hastily, ending with a nervous laugh.
"I knew it! You like him!"
"You have no proof!" She accuses me.
"I said him, not Golden," I state, grinning. I know I've won.
Jenna stumbles with her words, trying to counter me. She fails. "Well... Whatever! Doesn't matter!" She looks away again, blushing even harder.
I smirk at her again, then the bell rings. "C'mon, let's go!" I say.
"Okay, okay, I'm coming!" Jenna picks up her drawing materials and walks out of the classroom with me. We go to our lockers. Hers is on the other side of mine.
"Mickalie!" Golden calls as soon as we're in range. He's struggling with his locker. Again. "It... Won't... Open!" He growls furiously between each pull. On the last one, it finally budges, sending him stumbling backwards.
"You alright over there?" I ask sarcastically while chuckling, opening my locker with ease.
"Ha ha, very funny," he comments, angrily blowing a stray tuft of hair out of his face.
"Hey, Mickalie's walking to my house with me today... Do you wanna come?" Jenna offers a little shyly, attempting to hide her blush.
"Sure! I'd love to!" Golden tells her. He's completely oblivious.
"Really!? Yay!" Jenna says. "I mean, uh, cool. That's cool."
"Smooth," I comment sarcastically. "Nice save."
"Oh shut up!" She retorts, though she's smiling.
Golden just looks at us, totally lost.
I sigh and smile. "Alright, let's go, Mr. Clueless," I say.
All three of us walk out of the school together, and start our walk to Jenna's house.
