Chapter 8

One Month Later

Christine's POV
This week had been different. No one had exactly gave me details on Nicole and Niall's date, but Nicole seemed a lot more cheery after it. It was good to see her like her old self again. It reminded me of the good old days when she didn't care so much about everyone and how she looked. Still, seeing her happy made me happier.
I hadn't really made contact with Louis ever since our date mishap. It was awkward if I saw him when I was with Liam or something, but there's no way I was just gonna forget that date. A couple times we had made eye contact, but I quickly looked away bitterly so it didn't seem like I had forgiven him. I almost saw sorrow on Louis' face when I looked away out of the corner of my eye. I didn't know him all that well, but I missed being able to laugh and banter with him.
Liam was a good listener and a close friend of mine at this point, but I couldn't rag on Louis to one of his band members, no matter how much he has made me mad. I didn't know what to do, Louis didn't seem like he would apologize, but what could I apologize for? I didn't do anything wrong.
Currently, I'm sprawled out on the huge couch in the boys' living room with Liam and Zayn, watching High School Musical 2, my legs on Liam's lap and my head in Zayn's. Liam told me the other boys (he mainly meant Louis) were out at lunch, and invited me over to come have a movie day with him and Zayn. I mean come on, movie day with two hot guys?
"GABRIELLA NO DON'T LEAVE HIM" Zayn yelled at the TV.
"Zayn you're such a girl oh my god," me and Liam said at once, and all three of us started laughing until we heard the front door open and Niall, Harry, and Louis walked in. I made eye contact with Louis and awkwardly looked away, shifting my legs off Liam and sitting up straight. The other four boys sat/stood there awkwardly, watching me and Louis. Niall cleared his throat awkwardly as I stood up and grabbed my coat, slipped on my boots and opened the door to leave, when I felt a hand on mine covering the doorknob.
"Why are you leaving?"
I looked up at Louis and gave him a confused look.
"Well, I just figured you'd want me to go." I shot back sassily. He gave me an exasperated look before saying, "What was I supposed to do? Tell my fans to leave?"
"No, but I was waiting for HOURS, for YOU."
"They wait hours for me."
"I know I'm not important to you or anything but that really hurt, you could have acted like you actually cared. It's okay, I'm leaving now." I tried turning the doorknob but Louis wouldn't let me, his hand still on mine. Then I realized that he was practically holding my hand. He must have realized this at the same time, because we both simaltaneously let go of the doorknob, and I looked away awkwardly.
"I don't want things to be awkward just because we went on one failed date." He said pretty awkwardly.
I decided it was time to let this stupid date go. I gave him a small smile and said, "It actually wasn't completely a fail, I mean, I got a free movie out of it."
He looked surprised. "So we're cool..?"
"No." I said, my face conpletely straight and laughed when I saw the horrified expression on his face. "I'm kidding! We're cool," I hit his shoulder lightly, and suprisingly, he pulled me into a tight hug.
My heart fluttered as he whispered into my hair, "I'm sorry."
