3rd POV
Jemma and Skye used to be the best of friends.
Always having sleepovers, they practically lived together!
Skye's parents, Phil and Melinda absolutely adored having Jemma around, she was pretty much like family.
Jemma's parents on the other hand didn't like the fact that Jemma seemed to be distracted by Skye. Although this is true, Nicole and Steven Simmons always marveled at the friendship Skye and Jemma had.
One day, Jemma and Skye seemed to stop talking to each other all together.
It was a true mystery of what happened to the once beautiful friendship.
But now there was high school to think about, no more middle school drama.
It was senior year, it was time to live.Skye's POV
The bell Is already ring,
"Shit." I mutter.
"What?" Ward confusingly replies.
"Class is starting, I have to go. I can't afford anymore detentions with Mrs. Assface." I call out to him before running towards Mrs. Lear's class.
Middle school wasn't the best year for me, my best friend and I stopped talking, I really don't know why.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that we were just too different?
She was in all honors classes, meanwhile I was in all the dumb people classes.
It really sucked.
It felt like an era had ended for me.
High school was a new start, time to forget about middle school and just focus on ahead.
I pretty much transformed myself, started dressing differently, and I started hanging out with new people.
It was a fresh start.
I even was able to (shockingly) get into all AP classes.
I was no longer stupid Skye and people took note.
I was quickly excepted into the "popular" group.
Everything about me was completely different, I liked it that way.
I rush into my AP English class and scramble to take out my notes.
All of a sudden, she walked in.
"Hello Mrs. Lear, I got a recent schedule change so I'm in the class." A British voice politely explained.
God damn it, it's Jemma.
My old best friend until she completely left me hanging.
Mrs. Lear examined the classroom and stopped at the empty seat next to me, no!!!!
God damn it, please no.
"You can sit next to Skye."
Crap!
"Oh, I work better in the front, if that's not too much of a problem." She quickly says.
Mrs. Lear nods her head and points to a chair next to Leopold Fitz.
"That'll be perfect, thank you."
What a bitch, she can't even sit next to me?!
Ugh, whatever. Her loss.
The class begins but all I can focus on is the little bitch in the front of the classroom.
As the day goes on, the same thing happens in every one of my classes.
Shit, she has the same schedule as me!
This is gonna be complete hell.
Finally lunch rolls around, thank god!
I sit next to Ward and he's quick to ask me what's wrong.
"Remember that girl I told you about?"
"The one who ditched you?" He questions.
"Yeah, that one. She's now in all my classes." I groan
"I'm sorry Skye."
This is going to be the worst year ever.
I actually started liking my classes, getting used to them.
Now in the middle of the first semester she randomly pops up back into my life.
"Maybe a kiss would cheer you up." Ward smirks as he tries to kiss me but I dodge it fast.
"Ew Ward!"
"What?!" He jokingly asks
"You know, I prefer girls."
"You said prefer, I may not be the preference. But I'm still available." He jokes
I met Ward freshman year, since then he's always tried to date me.
Sophomore year, I realized I liked girls. But that didn't mean I had no taste in men.
"Yes I'm bi, but I would much rather kiss anyone but you!" I laugh.
He tugs on my arm so we can both get lunch together.
Lunch is left overs from yesterday.
Just Great! Two tragedies in one day!
I decide to get a salad instead, I absolutely hate my school left overs.
We wait in the lunch line, waiting to pay.
From the corner of my eye I notice Jemma standing behind me in the same line.
"Hi." I quickly say trying to be polite.
"Hey." She responds.
Nothing more, I quickly turn around to Ward and grab his shoulder.
Practically forcing myself onto his lips, but of course not for long, he kisses me back.
We stand there making out until we get interrupted by the lunch lady telling us to move forward.
While Ward pays, I quickly look back and shoot Jemma the death stare.
I hand the lunch lady my money and grab Wards hand.
I'm not sure why I'm doing this to be honest, maybe it's to prove to Jemma that even though she left me, I'm doing better without her... Or maybe it's because of something different.
I'm interrupted by Ward trying to kiss me again,
"Ugh no stop. That was a one time thing, to get someone jealous." I try to explain.
"Ugh fine!" He sighs.
I feel kind of bad for using him like that, he will be fine in a minute or two.
Bobbi, Lance, Trip, and all sit down next to Ward and I.
"Hey." Bobbi cheerfully says as she opens her soda can.
She offers me the first sip and I take it.
Meanwhile, Bobbi and Lance start making out.
They've been dating for what seems like forever.
Although, they have an on and off relationship.
"Get a room! Trip jokes
"Shut up Trip!" Bobbi tells him as she throws a clementine at him.
"Come on girl!" Trip laughs.
Ward seems to forget about me using him and starts talking to me again. Everyone at our table is laughing, having a great time, everyone except me.
I'm too busy getting distracted by Jemma sitting alone by the window.
I'm about to get up when I sit Leopold walk over to her and sit down next to her.
Are they friends or something?
Guess so,
"What's wrong?" Bobbi asks me as we leave the cafeteria.
"It's nothing, just tired." I lie.
Next period I have science then math, then home!!!!
----
"You will have a project due next month. This is a calibration project so you have to work with one other person. I will assign partners." Our teacher explains and all of us groan.
"Mark you will be with Alicia. Kayla you will be with Sarah. Jacob you will be with Fran." She assigns.
I start dozing off when I final hear my name being called,
"Skye you will work with Jemma." She says
What?!
No!!!!!!
Jemma and I quickly look up from our papers and stare blankly at Miss. Jacobs.
I'm about to protest but she can already see where I'm going.
"All pairings are final!" She calls out to the class,
"Start working! Get with your partner." She demands.
I look over at Jemma who is making her way to my place.
She looks up and I half smile at her.
"All right, what are we gonna do for this project." I speak up to break the silence.
"Please don't talk to me." She curtly responds
"This is a group effort." I try to explain.
"You wouldn't be talking to me if we didn't get assigned this project. We will use minimal words and after we will go back to not talking." She demand.
"No." I stubbornly respond.
"Why?"
"Because that's not true." I defend myself.
"Yes, yes it is. You are completely different, I don't even know you anymore. Mini skirts, crop tops, whatever happened to the Skye who wore ripped jeans and oversized Marvel shirts to school?"
"She grew up." I hiss at her.
"Whatever." She mumbles under her breath.
"Don't act like I'm the reason we stopped being friends, you are the one who left me, remember." I counter fight.
"I did no such thing! We drifted. But then you decided that meant we wouldn't even talk." She argues back.
"Fine, it was both of us! I'm sorry."
"No need to be, we cant change the past." She stubbornly responds.
"Can't we at least be nice, and not mean to each other." I suggest.
"Fine."
