For the third time, Kurtis' phone goes to voicemail, but this time, Alex leaves a message because if he won't pick up his call, maybe he'll listen to what Alex leaves for him. Or maybe Kurtis will just delete the voicemail without hearing Alex out. But it's still worth a shot.
So, Alex speaks after hearing the tone, "Kurtis, I'm sorry. That was a really stupid thing for me to say. I- I don't even know why I said it. Please call me back. I'm sorry. It was... that's not..." He doesn't know how to explain it because neither of them stated that it was Kurtis that Alex referred to, even though they both know it was.
Kurtis has a crush on Alex and Alex is aware and Kurtis is aware that Alex is aware of his crush. But it hasn't been spoken about.
And now, possibly, Alex is crushing on Kurtis, but maybe only because they've been hanging out too much.
Alex sighs, "please call me back." And he ends the voicemail.
