It was almost four in the morning now. Wendy stomped on the accelerator, driving back home at her car’s maximum speed. Due to her wearing high heels, driving at such a speed guaranteed death if not for the streets being deserted at this hour.

Her Lotus sports car rolled to a stop outside a high-end residential community.

This was where Wendy lived. The Peng family had their own manor. However, because of the problematic interpersonal relationships there, Sungjae refused to call it his home. Similarly, she had moved out of that place due to personal reasons.

The security guard had initially mistaken Wendy as a madwoman and almost called out for backup. Fortunately, someone was a huge fan of the celebrity. He was able to recognize her in the nick of time, avoiding unnecessary complications.

It was still early, and it was rare for Sungjae to have any vacations. Last night, he went out for a couple of drinks with his pals and had only returned at two in the morning. At 4 am, after barely squeezing in two hours of sleep, he was woken up by the sound of his phone ringing.

Picking it up, he peered down to discover that the caller ID belonged to Wendy. Answering the call, he heard her scream, “Brother! Save me!”

Wendy’s voice over the line was trembling. She squeezed word after word out of her mouth in a panicky tone. Wendy’s heart sank the moment his mind registered what was going on. Speaking slowly, he tried to get his sister to calm down. “Don’t panic. Wendy, slow down and tell me where you are right now.”

“Brother, please, open the door. I’m standing outside.” Wendy had collapsed outside his door. She had the keys to his house but she had accidentally left it in her car.

A heavy weight slid off Wendy’s shoulders upon hearing that. He walked over and opened his door, only to find Wendy in an almost unrecognizable state sprawled in the ground outside. At that moment, her eyes were filled with fear.

“Wendy, Big Brother’s here. Don’t panic. Tell me, what happened to you?” Wendy wrung dry a wet towel and wiped her face clean.

Wendy grabbed her big brother’s arm and looked up with a pair of cold, merciless eyes. “Brother, I want Xiao Rosé killed. And that Lalisa Manoban too! I want them both dead! Brother, you think you can do that for me?!”

Her eyes were filled with anticipation, staring up at himself.

“So your senses have returned?” Sungjae took in a deep breath. “Tell me, why do you want me to kill them? What about Peng Da?”

Wendy reached up and covered her eyes. “P-Peng Da… Peng Da’s…”

There was no way he could communicate with her in this state. Sungjae called Peng Da’s phone. Peng Dayuan was the son of the Peng family’s head butler. His family has been serving as Sungjae’s for countless generations now. Peng Da had close to limitless potential after he was born, which was also why had been accepted as the disciple of the strongest man in the ancient martial arts world.

After he had received his education, he returned to serve under the Peng family as one of their bodyguards. Subsequently, Sungjae had arranged for him to work beside his little sister, Wendy.

Ten minutes later, Sungjae returned. He looked at his little sister with scrutiny. “Were you trying to harm a female celebrity tonight? Wendy! I expect nothing but the truth from you!”

Wendy was stunned by her big brother’s reaction. A while later, she looked up at Sungjae and replied, “That’s right!”

“Why?!” Sungjae’s voice sounded harsh.
