Everything feels exactly the same. Every, single, day. Nothing is ever different. Same morning routine, go to school, then eat dinner and sleep. No matter what, everything feels, exactly the same.
My alarm clock screeches loudly at me, notifying me that it is morning. I quickly slam the button on the clock in order to stop it's irritating sound. I get dressed in my light blue baggy jeans and my pastel purple shirt, followed by a lavender flower necklace.
I head to school, just like any other day. I set my bag onto the floor next to my chair and search for my best friends: Ruby and Irene. I looked everywhere in the classroom and they weren't there. They always hang out with me before class starts. For some reason, today felt sort of.... off. It just seemed slightly unusual. I went to the cafeteria, thinking they'd be there, chatting with each other while waiting for me, even though we didn't plan to meet up there. I walk into the cafeteria, only to see Ruby and Irene talking with Heather and Willow. They knew that I highly disliked Heather and Willow's toxic friend group, but for some reason, they decided to hang out with them.
While starting to walk over to the group, I overhear some obnoxious things.
"Oh yeah! I heard that James is planning to fight Kyle!" A member of their group says."I hope that Kyle wins!" Willow says in a cheery voice.
As I get closer, they start whispering, little do they know, I can still hear them.
"Eww," Heather says, "What the fuck is that weirdo wearing?""I think she's getting closer guys," a group member says.
Heather turns around and loudly greets me by saying, "Oh! Hey Lilac! How are you?"
"I'm good I guess," I mumble.
"I guess we better get going," Irene says while turning to Ruby.
Me, Ruby, and Irene all walk back to class and we chat about random things as usual. The bell rang, and class started. I sat in the back off the classroom but Irene and Ruby sat in the front, right beside each other.
The recess bell finally rang. I walked out the door with my friends. As we walked, I noticed that they were sort of spaced apart from me. I decided to attempt to engage in conversation.
"Yesterday I-''
"So anyways..." Ruby says, rolling her eyes.
I ignored it. I though she was just in a bad mood because we have a math test before lunch.
We all got outside and sat at a bench located near the playground.
"Ruby, do you want to have a sleepover this weekend?" Irene asks.
"Yeah sure! We'll have so much fun!"
I felt very selfish for thinking they were leaving me out of it. I just kept quiet. I didn't want to start anything or bring attention to myself. After a few minutes of Irene and Ruby talking, the bell rang and class started. We walked to math class. We sat down in our usual seats and started the test. I was doing great, until someone threw a pencil at my head. I said nothing. Oreya, the girl sitting next to me, chucked a small, folded piece of paper at me. I opened it and it read, "Fucking Loser LOLLLL"
What the actual fuck. I have a very strong feeling that it's either from Heather or her group. They're so annoying. I finished my test and sat quietly. I looked behind me and I saw Irene and Ruby passing notes back and forth and giggling as they looked at me. As soon as they saw me, they acted as if they weren't just giggling at me. I took out my book and read to pass the time. Class was over.
I finally walked out of the school gates. Even though the day is over, I feel like a caged bird. Like I can't fulfill something in my life. Everything, is boring.
