The trees, the people in flouro vests holding small white posts, the concrete road the aircraft was driving on, all of it slowly becoming smaller as the plane ascended. I watched as the lights from the city and the buildings all begin to shrink as we flew further away from my home town, the city ive lived in my whole life. At that moment I truly realised that undoubtedly I was about to begin a brand new life, a whole new start. An all-new chapter...

The light began to invade my vision as I was awakened by my father
"Cmon wake up we're here"
His voice and almost violent shaking brought me to my senses and I finally sat up.

Stretching out my arms and legs I looked around and saw an estimate of 100 people shoving through the line trying to get to the door which wasn't even opened yet
'God these people are retarded, we're all gonna get out eventually regardless'
My father started tapping me bringing me out of my thoughts.
"Y/n you're doing it again, ya need to learn to control those facial expressions of yours," he said with a dry chuckle. I glanced down at the floor realising I was probably glaring at them the whole time...oops.

After around 10 minutes the obnoxious crowd of impatient passengers were forced to chill out and 'calmly and safely exit the aircraft' though, it was still just a large line of pushing and shoving with many people murmuring complaints in Japanese, which I was slowly beginning to normalise. My father and I apparently being the only patient people on the plane waited till most of the plane had already left before we took our leave.

We finally got off the plane and I was greeted with the unfamiliar scent of the new land, Looking around all my nerves practically evaporated on the spot, everything that I imagined about japan was slowly coming to life and I was excited. I couldn't wait to experience living in my new home and I had a really good feeling about it, I couldn't help myself from smiling and even though I probably looked like a weirdo I didn't care I was happy to begin this new chapter of the confusing book of my life.
