absurdism

i used to always think that we were given this life because of a certain mission. a mission entrusted for us to fulfill. and for a long time, I believed that was the sense life has; because that was what people have convinced me what life is. to believe that each of us was given a mission or a purpose, from the day we were born, is no doubt astounding. and for most people to believe in it, just made sense. right?

right. but,

but as everything happens in front of my eyes and behind my back; as i'm slowly being cognizant of a wider reality and not just of my reality, discerned not only people's similarities but also of their differences. this reflected society's enormity especially towards the marginalized; a full consciousness towards the idea's [that each people was brought to life because of the mission relied upon them] absurdity and ludicrousness.

how can we say that each of us exists with a path directing to a handed mission by the beyond? how is that possible when poverty exists? why should someone live with the idea that each of us has a mission to fulfill when there are people who weren't even given a chance from the day they were brought to life. who never knew what opportunity feels like because of how much hindrance surrounds them— of how the only view that they were able to perceive are hurdles. there are people who's memories and hopes only consists of nothingness. their life is just pitch darkness and void which cannot be filled. sometimes even forced to remove the magic within their souls because of how they were obliged to face reality.

It is when i realized that it is we who create a life mission for ourselves. it must be us. a life mission is not something that should be given by other people, but should be something we want to do at the best of our abilities— it shouldn't always be grand or big or even life-changing. in fact, to be able to stand, breathe, and go on in life is enough as a mission. to believe otherwise would just welcome elusiveness in our chances for a better day and tomorrow.

i just wish that much more people would realize that they can build their own mission using their own values without the need to follow what society think is what should be.
