Gabriel woke up at dawn to see the sun rising, which was part of his daily routine. Gabriel did his morning prayers to the Lord and ate his breakfast, which was also part of his daily routine. However Gabriel had been told that as soon as he ate breakfast he must attend an important meeting that the king had set up where all of his top generals must attend to. Gabriel was nervous as this was not very normal and he was worried something was wrong.
Gabriel walked up to where the meeting was taking place, a sign on the wall said "wait till a servant calls you in." Gabriel saw Matías (the king's top general and advisor and the only person Gabriel had to answer to apart from the monarchy.) laughing with lower ranking generals. This made Gabriel boil up with rage, "how does he not take this seriously?" Gabriel thought inside, he wondered how did he even become the king's most trusted advisor. A servant slowly opened the door, Gabriel had noticed he had a look of fear in his eyes, the servant gestured them to come in with his hands.
Gabriel entered the room to see the king with an anxious look on his face that he tried to hide. The room despite all of it's beauty did not feel like a room in a king's castle but a room filled of death and sorrow, Gabriel did not know why though.
"Gentlemen, I have called you my generals, to prepare and mobilise your troops for war against France."
The room was in complete silence, everyone knew the King had tensions with the King of France, Carolus III over access to the Bay of Biscay however no one could believe it would have ever escalated to a war.
"May all my generals leave the room and mobilise your troops apart from Matías and Gabriel." The king said.
All the generals quickly left the room.
"Firstly I will need the both of you to set your differences aside for the good of Spain. We can not afford fighting from you two, my top generals." The king firmly but respectfully said.
Both Matías and Gabriel nodded their heads.
"Now we got that sorted out, let me tell you about what I believe we should do. You Matías should use the Spanish navy and establish control over the French navy in the Bay of Biscay. Then as soon as you do that you launch a siege on Bordeaux, understood?"
"Yes, your majesty."
Gabriel, you will have to break through the French defences, you will be aided by other generals to do so. You then also surround Bordeaux and complete a siege on it, understood."
"Yes your majesty."
"The siege of Bordeaux will hopefully force the French surrendering and establishing our control of the Bay of Biscay. You must follow these plans as well unless I tell your otherwise however the way of executing these plans are entirely up to you. I have no doubt that if you work together that we will certainly achieve our goals."
The king then started coughing badly, the servants in the room immediately rushed to his aid and got the king out of the room. Gabriel looked at Matías who looked back at him, both with a look of disgust.
