Gabriel shot his head up after hearing noise but what he did not know however just 5 five seconds later he heard footsteps being as quiet as possible. Gabriel knew something was off so using the limited light he had by the torches outside he exited his tent. Gabriel saw soldiers entering tents however saw by the  clothing they wore they were not Spanish soldiers but French.

Gabriel shouted as loud as he could "WAKE UP MEN! DON'T DIE IN YOUR SLEEP!" The French soldiers heard him but so did the Spanish soldiers. The French soldiers looked at each-over most of them retreated out of there but a few decided to still fight. And charged at Gabriel, knowing it would be futile to try and fight them he did the only thing he could, escape from horseback. Gabriel quickly got on a horse however noticed how few they were.

"They took them! God damn it." However he had no time to dwell he quickly got on the horse with a French soldier inches away of slashing his thirst but luckily he dodged it just in time. Gabriel's horse was a slow one and the French with their must faster horses were closing in on him. Gabriel heart was beating faster and faster each second however suddenly arrows launched killing a few French soldiers and most knew they must leave now however on soldier cared not and still pursed after Gabriel.

Gabriel realised that running away from this French soldier will be useless and decided to turn around and fight him with the only weapon he had on him, a dagger. Gabriel threw the dagger which hit the horse's heart however the French soldier's sword slashed threw the horses legs which caused Gabriel to fall off his horse and on the floor. The French soldier grinned, Gabriel accepted his fate knowing he could do nothing however as soon as the French soldier raised his sword to strike Gabriel down, the sound of galloping could be heard it was Tobal with his soldiers who killed the French soldier before he could defend himself.

Gabriel panted for minutes after, he hadn't been that close to dying for a long time.

"Is everything ok, good sir Gabriel?" Tobal asked.

Gabriel just nodded his head and which Tobal got off his horse and lent him his hand which Gabriel used to get up. Tobal got off his horse and gestured to Gabriel to have it which Gabriel accepted.

They started walking back to the camp till Tobal spoke "They took all of them, our horses are almost none. This is not good and also Alfonso didn't survive the attack." Tobal shook his head after saying that.

"No horses? What are we going to do? Coming to think of it how did it happen in the first place, where were the guards? Were no guards protecting Alfonso?" Gabriel asked

"I thought the same thing, apparently they are missing? Probably got took out and bodies disposed off elsewhere."

Gabriel and Tobal arrived not long after to see Rafael, Francisco and Matías all standing there.

"Why didn't we move away from here? It was you who was in-charge of this place before I arrived!" Matías said.

"I told them the place is not safe but they wanted to celebrate your arrival, it was Alfonso's, Rafael and Francisco's fault." Gabriel said

"Why you blaming us and a dead person for? It looked safe to us." Rafael said

"Because it's your fault that the horses were stolen."

"Well it's your fault why Alfonso is dead!" Francisco said.

Tobal walked away can't believing people were fighting in a time like this while Matías nearly burst out laughing due to the arguing. The dawn of the downfall of Spain has come.
