She left an hour ago.

Those 5 words broke me.  Just when I made my decision to go back to ask for her name, I ended up heart broken from finding out that the person I was searching for was no longer there.  My chances of meeting the same girl again was low, very low.  I should've asked for her name the first time.  I shouldn't have been so stubborn and shy.  How stupid of me.  Those thoughts ran through my head, I was too caught up in my thoughts that I didn't even notice my surroundings anymore.  Slowly, my hope of finding the girl again faded.  I was drowning in my own thoughts that were destroying me bit by bit, there I was in front of the counter crumbling apart from the inside.  How could I be so blind?  If I wasn't so naïve to love, I would've known her and got her contact before she left.  All I could do was blame myself, all I could do was focus on my inner thoughts that made me think of nothing but my own words that I kept to myself because of that I didn't notice that I was holding up a long line behind me.

I snapped back to reality when I heard a deep raspy voice that boomed out from behind me, "Hey kid! Are you going to stand there or are you going to move out of the way?!"

I couldn't help but jump in fear when the man behind me suddenly snapped at me, I looked back and saw a long line with customers who were looking at me like they wanted anything but good to happen to me.  Embarrassed and afraid, I immediately stepped out of the way letting the man who was behind me walk in front of the counter.  What could possibly go wrong now?  Firstly I found out that the girl I was searching for was gone and there was nothing that I could do to find her and secondly I held up a long line because of my thoughts taking over me at that moment.  I was so young meaning that I was extremely innocent, I felt like such a burden holding up a line just because I was heart broken.  I wanted to disappear, I didn't want anyone to even look at me.  At that moment, I decided to give up.  There was no way that I would find the girl again and there was no way for me to go back from the embarrassment I felt when people looked at me with such annoyance, so why try.  I turned around and made my way to the glass door, I was ready to leave- I gripped onto the door handle but I felt a hand grab my wrist.  I looked back expecting that it was the annoyed man who came back to discipline me but when I turned I saw the waitress who was at the counter before, I looked towards the counter to see another waitress behind the table taking her spot.  I was confused as to why she suddenly stopped me from leaving, just as I was about to ask, she pulled me to the side into an empty room and shut the door behind her.

"I realised from a few hours ago that you like her, and I'm positive that she liked you too. I mean I noticed how you two stared at each other this morning, Eunha doesn't usually react that way to people who stare at her." She spoke to me with such kindness and understandment.  It was like she saw straight through me, before I could reply she handed me a piece of paper. "Here. I wrote Eunha's Instagram account on this so don't lose it. You can message her there but here's one thing you should know. She's forbidden by her father to tell you where she moved to, no one knows not even me. Her father wanted her to move in with him so that they could focus on being a big family company, her father didn't want her working in some simple café so he forced her to leave and forced her to not tell anyone where she went so that none of her friends can visit her. You can still message to talk to her but I doubt that you'll be able to see her in person, but I'm sure you two can figure something out. I'm sorry it isn't much help but it's the best I could do."

With no hesitation, I pushed her into my tight embrace.  I could do nothing but be grateful for what she gave me.  Though it was little to her, it wasn't to me as at the time that paper was possibly the only way I could find her again.  I wanted nothing but a way, and that was one. She gasped as she felt my arms tighten around her back, as I rested my chin on her shoulder wanting to cry from happiness.  I laughed, on the verge of tears, "Not much help? This could be my only help. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

She gently pulled me away from our embrace and giggled as she saw my tear-filled eyes.  She wiped away my damp eyes, smiling as she acknowledged my gratefulness for her, "Hey don't cry. You'll start making me cry. Besides, what else could I do but help? I know you love her."

I felt my face redden hearing the phrase 'you love her' all over again.  The same like every other time.  But his time, I knew that I no longer needed to question my love for her because I knew I did.  That waitress named Eunha was suddenly my reason for love.  She was my reason to love.  And the waitress in front of me was my way to find her.  I felt like I owed everything to her.  As we looked at each other cramped inside a storage room with smiles on our faces, all of a sudden we got startled by a male voice that was muffled from the inside of the room. "Hey! Where's Jieun?! She needs to be at the counter!"

Jieun's her name..

She looked at me with panic in her eyes realising she was still on duty and there she was in a tight storage room talking to me.  Nodding, I gestured to her that it was alright for her to leave me, I didn't want her to get into trouble.  She looked at me and gave another big hug which I accepted, I whispered one last 'thank you' before she scurried out the door being cautious to not get caught running out of an empty storage room on the side of the café.  I followed her out the room jogging past the workers in the kitchen, careful to not be seen as I was a customer.  As I reached the main door, I looked at my hand with the small piece of paper.  I clutched it tightly and carefully placed it inside my pocket so there was no way I could lose it.  I looked back one more time at Jieun because I was still thankful for her help.  She was working in front of the counter serving customers with a welcoming smile like nothing happened.  I exited the café, the cold, winter wind hitting my bare face once again.  Closing the door behind me, I dragged my feet through the thick snow before cautiously crossing the road.  I dragged my feet through more snow getting thicker and deeper as I got close to the dorms.  When I reached the front doors of the University building, I pushed my way through, entering the campus taking parts of the snow with me.

Awkwardly, I greeted the seniors who were walking past me looking concerned for my boots which were covered with snow.  At the time, they must have thought I looked like a giant Yeti.  Gradually, I wiped my shoes on the big mat placed at the doors leaving chunks of snow.  After I shook the rest of the snow off my boots, I ran into the elevator and pressed the button.  Seconds passed, I was still disappointed that I didn't get there in time, but for once I had hope ever since that piece of paper.  A loud ding from the elevator snapped me back from my thoughts, I reached my floor.  Walking out, I made my way to our dorm.  Since I didn't have the key, I knocked on the door.  I heard fast footsteps scurrying their way closer to me. I'm going to have to break the news to Taehyung.

As I expected, Taehyung opened the door with wide eyes and a big smile.  Without warning, he pulled me inside and locked the door behind him.  Wait 'til he hears what happened.  He looked at me with his cheeky boxy smile and put his hands on my shoulder, excited for me to break the ice, "So?! What happened! Did you get her number? Did you ask her out? Did she say yes?"

"Taehyung," I sighed, trying to get him to pay close attention, "She moved away. But! Good news, well, maybe. I got a piece of paper from Jieun, another waitress who was close to her and it has her Instagram account so that I can contact her. Bad news again, she can't tell anyone where she moved to because her father is forcing her to not have any distractions from her friends. Long story short, I found out her name was Eunha. Her father made her move because working at a small café was too simple for him so he's making her join their family business in a different country."

Taehyung looked at me, perplexed.  Not because of the news I spilled but because of how I managed to fit all of those words in one single breath.  I could tell by his expression, he looked disappointed that she was gone but also happy since I still had some type of contact with her.  He lifted his hands from my shoulders and asked, "Well why don't you call her on her account?"

Widening my eyes, I looked at Taehyung with confusion.  Call her?!  What was he thinking?  I yelled, "Are you out of your mind? Now?! What if she doesn't pick up? Besides, I doubt her father isn't going to hear her on a call with someone who has a fat crush on her.  Like, can't I just message her first? Not now, but can I at least just start with a text message."

Taehyung rolled his eyes and for the first time, agreed without me trying to compromise with him.  He sighed, "Alright fine. Only because I don't want her to get caught, but you need to message her now. Not later. Now. I know you're scared to message her straight away, but you need to take a chance. What if you can't later on? Come on Jungkook, your choice. It's now or never."

It's now or never?
