Undead

Chapter 9

Today, I start training with Snow. I slept in her wig warm and we were up at the first sign of light. We left the camp to train. Snow said we had to train in the woods, away from other eyes as per Freya's orders. The journey is quite tiring. I'll bet I've lost a pound or two just walking out here. I couldn't keep up with Snow.

"Can we just stop here? I mean no one's going to see or hear us all the way out here." I called out to Snow who was a little way ahead of me. She looked at me warily, hesitant.

"Fine. We'll train here." She said. She used her powers to arrange some boulders in a circle around us, then she casts a purifying spell on the circle so be sure we're safe. And the training starts.

My first lesson is learning to concentrate my energy on one spot which basically means that I have to cage my powers and then  release in calculated amounts. Its quite frustrating but then seeing as I'm 'special', I pull it off after a few tries. My next lesson is levitating stuff which is quite easy and fun. I try hitting Snow with a few stones just Dir fun but she dodges quite easily. We call it a day and we start back for the camp, but I sense something.

It feels like someone is following us, but, whenever Snow and I look back, we see nothing. We continue cautiously.

Suddenly, there's darkness like really really deep darkness. I quickly graab ahold of Snow's hand. Now I'm Undead Wolfblood. This means that I have both Undead and Wolfblood abilities, so, I'm the only Wolfblood that can see in the dark even if I lose my sense of smell. This makes it easier for Snow and I to maneuver our way out of the woods; though in this darkness, its difficult to see or smell anything. Snow and I hear a blood curdling scrwam from behind us. Snow holds on tighter to my hand.

Its foggy but I can mje out the figure of a woman coming towards us. I can tell Snow is seeing her too (using her powers) cause her eyes are bulging almost out of her head.

"Don't. Move." She whispers harshly to me as the figure comes closer. But instead of a confrontation, the women just cackles as she circles us and leaves; taking the fog and darkness with her. As soon as she's gone, Snow and I shuf into our wolf forms and run back to camp as fast as our limbs can carry us.
I could have sworn I smelled Morna...
