Summer has always been my least favorite time of the year. It's too hot and everyone is always in a bad mood because of it.

But the one good thing is, my friends that are still in college can come visit during their summer break.

The school is a two hours away, and between all of our conflicting schedules I haven't been able to see them in almost a year.

But they're here for tonight, and I was ecstatic.

"Sometimes I still feel bad for making Ella cry on her first week," Chrissy smiled as she took a sip of her wine. "I really feel like I traumatized her."

"Only temporarily," I answered, earning a laugh from the two girls sitting on my floor.

Chrissy was my roommate during my three semesters at college. She was my first friend and also the one I walked in on hooking up with some guy, which did indeed temporarily traumatize me.

She nearly 6 foot tall with gorgeous long fiery red hair, I have always considered her to be one of the most beautiful girls I have ever seen. She was my first friend I made in school and I still talk to her pretty often.

Then there's Samantha, or Sam for short. I met her a bit later into my first semester. She was the polar opposite of Chrissy. She was 5'4" with dark hair. Where Chrissy was the outgoing and kind type who made friends with anyone, Sam was a bit more reserved and hardheaded.

"She needed to know the truth about sex." Sam stated as she downed the rest of her half full glass of wine. "After all, she was going to school to be a doctor, that's kind of really important information for a doctor to know."

I couldn't help but laugh, she was absolutely right.

"Yeah, I agree on that one." I sighed, also drinking the rest of my wine. Then pouring Sam and I more.

They had only been here for about an hour, but we were all already half way to being tipsy. The girls decided since they don't get many nights off with their jobs, they were taking advantage of tonight, and so was I. I don't get much girl talk time, so I was soaking up and enjoying every second of it.

"I still can't believe Ella was the one to drop out out of all of us. I really thought it would be me," Chrissy admitted.

I shrugged, "I had to before I got too far into it. I had zero interest in being a doctor."

There was an awkward pause, they both new my situation and the fact that my future and actions were all planned out for me.

Suddenly Chrissy gasped, "oh my god, Ella, I have to tell you something. Sam has a secret boyfriend."

This peaked my interest.

Sam groaned, "He's not my boyfriend."

I disregarded what Sam said. "Why's it a secret?" I questioned.

Chrissy smirked, "cause he's one of the head doctors at our office."

I looked at Sam, who was chugging her third glass of wine, with my mouth wide open, "Sam! I don't think receptionists are supposed to do that." I taunted.

"First of all Ella, I'm not a receptionist, I'm an assistant. Second of all, he was too hot for me to not take the opportunity."

Now it was Chrissy's turn to disregard what Sam said, "no, Ella, they certainly are not."

I grinned, "that's so exciting though."
