" i see quiet nights,
poured over ice,
and tanquery "
__________"we definitely nailed that." yui smirked in response, still holding on to him.
"maybe if they didn't see the number of times you stepped on my foot." riki scoffed sarcastically.
"i warned you." she shrugged and played it off innocently.
perhaps riki slightly regretted coming to this event the moment he found out yui was not good at dancing.
ever since the day he asked her to be his dance partner, yui was confused. without a doubt, she was happy that all her effort would not go to waste, but she was puzzled by his words.
not once had she thought he would willingly come to such occasion, let alone ask her to be his partner in front of the whole class.
maybe understanding riki was not as easy as counting 1 2 3.

" wow it was so stuffy there. " yui emphasised as she fanned herself with her hands.
"i don't know if i can even feel my feet anymore." he muttered whilst walking perfectly fine. the way his actions contrasted with his words.
"sorry." she merely apologised. although she couldn't help being a bad dancer, she did feel bad for stepping on his foot multiple times. not even including the times during practice.
"wow did kimura just back down and apologised." he dramatically remarked.
"no you heard wrong." she rolled her eyes and stared into the dark sky.
currently 8:30 PM, her honey pupils reflected the moonlight as so, riki took a glance at.
"you're quite different these days." he changed the subject.
"hm?"
"the way you act around me seems different to before." he spoke whilst too, staring at the sky. "is everything okay?"
she really didn't understand him.
"yeah of course." she nodded with a small smile.
he wonders.
"you stopped bothering me quite a bit." he added on with no shame; bluntly.
"why? missed me?" she laughed.
"way too much." he replied.
just as yui was trying to think of another comeback, she was slow to catch on.
silence struck in between them as they both meet eyes under the gleaming moonlight. their reflections on each other's eyes were almost visible.
"w-what?"
"still so foolish." he chuckled as he looked away.
stage 2: confusion.
"I've been meaning to ask," she took this opportunity. "why don't you and I just become friends."
again.
"kimura, i think that's enough questions for today." he looked at her expressionlessly.
stage 3: boundaries.
when will yui ever know?
