"good morning kimura." he greeted her with his image face; a bit stoned yet attractively stoned.

yui smiled. she had many reasons to smile. one, for the first time, he added 'good' to the morning. two, he greeted her first. three, he was no avoiding her.

it was only 8 AM but they were enough to make her the entire day.

she greeted back just as he cooly walked off leaving her and her friend sprinting towards her.

"yui. i think i just had the weirdest hallucination." kana desperately caught her attention. "the riki nishimura literally came up and greeted you."

"oh good morning kana!" yui's bubbly personality made her friend smile. "huh? what he really did say good morning. we on good terms again now."

it took a hot second for kana's morning brain to take in her message. "so it was real!?" she finally shouted, unintentionally catching some other student's attention.

"uh yeah?" yui responded as confused as she could be.

"oh my lord. who knew this day would come. a new era is coming. i know it. i can feel, the energy!" kana dramatically recited.

however, she was happy he decided not to switch up on her after the day before yesterday.

"how are you feeling?" he asked as she was about to walk past his seat.

"good. thank you for helping me." she smiled whilst giving a thumbs up.

suddenly, their homeroom teacher came in earlier than usual.

"attention all students." she raised her voice to get the students to settle down. "good morning everyone, oh kimura welcome back. anyway, today we have a new student who will be joining this class. come in!" she looked towards the side doors.

slowly but surely, the mysterious new boy made his way in front of the class. "hello. i'm sou takashi from osaka." he smiled before politely bowing. the class clapped to welcome him.

to the girls, he was pretty cute.

yui was no different.

"alright, take a seat . . ." she scanned across the room. "there! in front of kimura. kimura please raise your hand."

was it jackpot or cursed?

she smiled at the boy who began unpacking his belongings as he twisted his body around to greet her.

his puppy-like features were surely irresistibly adorable.

"yo i think im in love." kana whispered to yui as a joke. she only knows it's a joke because her friend says that to any new boy who she likes at first without even knowing them.

the rest of the day proceeded with no problem but the only thing different was the fact sou was following yui around.

this led to riki not being able to talk to her one bit as the new boy kept her busy.

"takashi seems to really like you." riki leaned on the locker as he waited for her to collect her stuff.

they were assigned to do extra work which resulted in their delay in going home.

"oh yeah me too." she shrugged. "he's cute."

"i thought you had a crush on me?" he scoffed, pulling the card out.

"what it's not like YOU like me that way." she remained calm despite feeling her heart rate increasing. "and just because he's cute doesn't mean i like him."

"whatever." he looked away towards the exit, suddenly spotting a familiar boy.

sou takashi was probably waiting for her.

"ah my lips feel so dry." she dug her pockets trying to find her lip balm. "have you seen my lip ointment thing." she asked the boy who was still looking in that one direction.

"no. want some of mine?" he suggested.

"yeah sure." she rolled her eyes thinking what ways was he going to give her some ointment since his one ran out as they were staying back.

he was now watching.

"here." and with that, he held onto her chin, angling it so she was looking up and with no hesitation, leaned in.

the direct contact sent electricity down her spine. her eyes widen, not understanding the situation and when she finally did, he had pulled back.

instead of looking in the exit direction, he was now looking at her.

"w-what?" she looked at him in disbelief.

"was that better?" he tilted his head as if it was normal.

"you literally kissed me." she spoke. although the words rung inside her ears, it came out quite softly.

"not really. you said yeah sure so i shared some of mine with you." he casually shrugged.

was riki always this . . . boldly flirtatious?

"you are unbelievable." she shook her head, holding onto her dear composure as it was going to fall apart if she continued to face him.

she felt her face heat up and quickly fanned herself.

"don't tell me that was your first kiss." he teased, walking beside her.

"you wish." she rolled her eyes.

freaking out on the inside, she did not know what was the best way to act because

he was right.

it was in fact her first kiss.

and now none other than riki nishimura has stolen it.

man it really feels like the holidays because of the one day, day-off.

its okay, only a few more days of school and im free!

also, it's gonna be late by the time you guys see this but as you can tell, i will be posting the remaining chapters all on riki's birthday!
