Have you ever heard of the legend of the famous Yoshinari Todoroki and his love story of how he met his mermaid. Well here in the town of Crystal Reef, you can ask any of the residents that tale. And it always had the same ending, they fall in love and live happily ever after! Isn't it romantic??

Yeah romantic isn't the word you're looking for to be completely honest. Growing up hearing that story over and over again would obviously get pretty old so you find it hard to believe that that is really even a legend and more of a story. That this town's founder fell in love with a MERMAID?? Seriously let's be real.

But what can you do when you live in a small town that literally has everything and I mean EVERYTHING mermaid related.

And just like any other day at the Siren Cove cafe, a cute little cafe where hungry customers are served by pretty girls dressed as mermaids. Kinda like a regular Japanese maid cafe. This is your job that you love and enjoy, your part is to take orders from customers that come and go cause you refuse to put on those revealing costumes. I mean the other slim and healthy girls can pull off the attire 100% with their slender body and flat stomach fully exposed. While you are just chubby, well you call yourself curvy as a way of not self hating yourself. Because you don't mind the way you look with your wide hips, love handles, and stretch marks. It's what makes you you...even though you feel more like yourself this way then when you were skinny back then.

"Um...miss?" You blinked back to reality, completely forgetting that you are working with a line of customers trying to order stuff to go.

"Yes! Uh what can I get you..." you dragged out the last word when you come face to face Todoroki Shouto, descendant of the town founders and mermaid lover Todoroki Yoshinari. So that would make him the son of the mayor of this town.

You didn't hear what he ordered because you were admiring his looks. His stoic handsome expressions while he continued speaking, his unique blue and grey eyes matching his plain look. His hair stands out amongst the crowd with one side of his head red and the other side pure white. Kinda like a candy cane or a upright poké ball. You Lowkey have always wanted to know if he could pull of a human poké ball look if he drew a black line down his face.

But what really would always captivate you and know better than to point it out is his scar that covers most of the left side of his face. No one really knows how he got that scar and no one really cared to ask since he would always keep to himself.

You quickly shook the thought away from your brain and smiled your usual work smile. You cheeks getting chubbier while the corners of your eyes developed crows feet.

Todoroki blinked at you, his face still stone cold dead. His gaze kinda makes you nervous, scared that you have to keep eye contact with him. But luckily you knew what he ordered because he comes by the cafe everyday before work to get—

"—a large black coffee with a cream cheese bagel, is that correct?" You repeated, he nods his head. You tap in the order and confirmed the goods and waiting for him to pay with his black card.

He nods in response and pays for his food and beverage. You immediately shout the order while Todoroki moved to the side so you could assist the customer that was behind him.

"Hey! Please stop doing that!" You turned to look over at yet another one of the waitresses were being harassed by horny customers.

You groaned at how often this has been happening. Creeps would come in and literally get turned on by having obedient women in mermaid maid outfits while calling them Sailor or Captain. The douchebags would flips their skirts like their still in freaking highschool or prentend to drop a kitchen utensil and have the maids pick it up meaning they would have her pretty much bent over. Men like that sicken you. But what could you do? I mean the girls at your job don't ever acknowledge you and seem full of themselves. But still...they're women and should be treated with respect. Which you don't see a lot of growing up sometimes. But just like any other day you ignored them just like they ignored you.
