Chapter 2

You sat on your bed with your knees close to your chest. Your mind has been wondering around a lot lately after what happened yesterday. And a LOT has happened, it's still hard to take in. First you rescue a naked man who you find out later is a freaking MERMAN that is NOT like the friendly kid stories you've been told all your life. They are predators that hunt anything that's in the water. Fun stuff right? But it doesn't explain why Katsuki didn't just kill you along with the other man.

{flashback}

"But I don't get it...if he was dangerous then he would've killed me the moment I hit the water." You speak up that very important detail hopefully that it will shed some light on this situation.

"I don't know why he didn't. I've never heard of a merfolk sparing a human since they hate the very existence of them." Umiko said looking puzzled, her words sending a slight pain in your heart.

It's obvious why they would hate humans after what they did to them decades ago. But you guess it makes sense from the way Katsuki attacked you and literally wanted nothing to do with you. Not that you were hoping for anything.

"It doesn't matter. Cause either way he doesn't belong here. Let's just hope he'll leave and never come back." Umiko looks at you with a sullen expression. "You should keep your distance from him. Next time you might not be so lucky trying to be his savior again."

You didn't say anything at first and just stared at your roomate.

"How do you know so much about them, Umi?" You ask, which she gives you a small grin with baby blue eyes telling more than she is willing to admit.

"I'm the Crazy Little Mermaid." She says with what you could easily tell was a fake smile.

{end of flashback}

"(Name)! EARTH TO (Name)!" you blinked out of your thoughts to see Ochako snapping her fingers in front of your face, her cheeks puffed out in an adorable pout with your bedroom tv playing in the background. "Did you hear a word I just said?" You blinked again.

"Sorry Ochako. I kinda zoned out for a second. What did you say?" Ochako frowned, flopped on her back on your (favorite color) comforter in a spread out formation.

"First you suddenly ditch me yesterday and now you're in your own world when I'm hanging out with you?" She scrambled back onto her hands and knees, her face now inches from yours. "AM I BORING YOU?!?! (Name) SAY IT ISNT SO!!" Her eyes glistened with incoming tears like a sad puppy which you uncontrollably snorted at.

"No of course not, Ochako! I would never consider you as boring. Actually you're the complete opposite in my opinion." You giggled, seeing your brunette friend sigh with relief. "But what were you saying?" She sat down cross cross besides you.

"I just saw on the news that there was another body found." You frowned at the terrible yet still the same news.

"Another one, seriously? Was this one drained of blood, burned alive or was the body rotting?" You didn't seem too surprised about this since these murders started happening for a while now. You don't know what in the world the police are doing cause obviously they haven't caught the culprit or culprits yet. Since no one knows if it's just a single killer or if there's more of them. Thinking that there's more than one gives you chills.

"Well...not really. This one was found in ocean." Your blood went cold.

"What?"

"Yeah. Apparently it was some kind of shark attack by the looks of it." You tried to keep your breathing nice and steady. "See?" You didn't realize that Ochako pulled out her phone and pulled up the news website.
