Over the next couple of weeks, I successfully avoided my brother and his friends along with Draco and his gang. Lessons were hectic. The learning was easy, but getting to them was hard. The castle has exactly 142 staircases, and the staircases move. As if that wasn't hard, Peeves is a massive prankster and is worth two locked doors and a trick staircase if you ask him for directions when you're running late. You also have to watch out for the caretaker, Filch. He and his cat, Mrs. Norris, are always there to stop people from breaking the rules. Sometimes, they just won't go away. In my first week alone, I developed a hatred for that man and his cat, and I have wanted to give Mrs. Norris a good kick many times.

Potions class is by far the best. We have it with the Gryffindors, which isn't too bad as I just normally sit with Bethany on the other side of the room. I love the way the cauldron bubbles and steams when you've made the potion to be perfect. Also, Professor Snape isn't bad at all. I don't know why my brother hates him so much. Well, I mean, sure he does pick on Harry and his friend quite a bit, but then again, sometimes they deserve it. Everyone says he favors his own house, so maybe that's why he treats me nicely. He always praises me in his classes and gives me extremely rare smiles.

I do really well in all my other lessons as well, apart from Herbology. I'm sorry, but I just don't get the speciality of plants. Sure, they're sort of a key factor in our survival, but the stupid, screaming, and biting ones are something that I can really do without.

"Potter ! Wake up ! We are still in class !" said Professor Sprout, screaming at me. I jolted up straight. Damn ! I fell asleep again. The class sniggers. Ugh, great !

"Sorry, Professor !" I said, apologizing to her. Bethany giggles. I nudge her and frown. She's supposed to be my best friend. She smiles. Ugh. Even when she's teasing me. Professor Sprout sighs.

"That's alright, just don't let it happen again ! Oh, and your grades aren't doing so well at the moment. You might need a tutor." said Professor Sprout. Ugh, great ! A tutor. Just what I need ! Someone taps me on my shoulder. I turn around to see the pudgy face of Neville Longbottom.

"Umm, I could tutor you if you'd like..." said Neville, so timidly. I grinned at him.

"Really ?!" I said, smiling happily. He nods.

"If you want me to. Only I'd have to ask if you could help me with potions ?" He said, still nervous. Aww. Sweet.

"Of course ! Can we meet up this afternoon ?" I said, so confidently. He smiles.

"Sure ! I'll meet you in the library !" said Neville. I nod at him. Yay ! I've gotten someone to tutor me ! And it's not someone I hate ! This is actually really good ! Bethany smiles at me.

"Lucky you got someone, Cosmic." said Bethany. I chuckle.

"Yeah, no thanks to you." I said, looking at her. She laughs.
