chapter 4, "new friend."

Time passed by, and it was now lunch time. 

"Finally! I was starving all day since I didn't have breakfast."

"Hey! That was cool that you stood up for that guy that was being beaten up yesterday! You're really brave!"

"Huh?" I turned around. It was a girl. She had redish-brownish hair and had brown eyes. She looked the same height as me. "Oh, thank you." I responded. 
"You seem like you need company, do you want to be friends?"
----
"Okay, sure. My name's Aurora by the way."
----
"My name is Stephanie. Nice to meet you Aurora!"

We both went to go get some lunch together. We sat down at an empty table and chatted for a little. "Got a new friend, huh?"

"What? Oh, Hey Marcus." 
----
Stephanie looked up and said; "Are you friends with him?! The bad boy?"
----
"Um.. yes-"
----
"So what? Got a problem with it?" He said, annoyed. 

"I told him to be nice."

I sighed. "Can both of you just get along?" They both agreed and Marcus sat down. "You're not gonna get some food?" I asked. "No. I don't have an appetite to eat." he answered.

"Yeah, he never eats." 
----
"Really?" I said, confused. 

"He doesn't eat? Weird." 

After Aurora and Stephanie finished eating, The three of them went to class.

the end of the day, outside

"You're stupid." I said, jokingly.
----
"Shut up. You know, you're really feisty for a little lady." he laughed, and jumped into the car. I went around and went into the front seat. "Not taking the bus today?" he asked. "Nah, the bus is always too noisy." I responded. "Alright then little lady, let's take you home."

back home

"Welcome home sweetie- Oh, and Marcus. How come you're here?"

"Well, the little lady didn't want to take the bus today, so I just drove her home."
----
My mom looked shocked, "Are you guys dating or something?"
----
I looked at her in disbelief. "What the hell mom?!"

"You know, we can date if you want, little lady." He smirked while saying this.
----
"Shut up!"
----
My mother laughs out loud; "Well Marcus, you can stay if you want to. And also there's food in the fridge if you two want anything."

in aurora's room

As I went to my room, I threw my book bag on the floor and jumped on my bed. I was so tired from school today. I heard my door open slightly, and Marcus came in. He quietly shut the door and looked over at me. "What happened to you?"

"Shut up." I said, and sighed. "Just tired from today."
----
"Jeez, relax. You're home now." He walked over to me and sat down next to me."
I thought about what Stephanie said today; "Yeah, he never eats."
 I asked him, "Why don't you eat?"

 
"Shoot, I have to come up with something or else she'll find out that I'm not from this era."

"School food is disgusting."
----
"Are you serious? It's not all that bad. I was almost concerned for you."
----
"Oh? So you were worried about me." he said, smirking.
----
"What? I said ALMOST." 
We both laughed. Time passed by. Soon, the afternoon became dark and Marcus left. 

"I should go to sleep early this time." And soon, I drifted asleep.

The school day repeated. Woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast, got on the bus. Hours passed. Lunch time, and Marcus didn't eat as usual. Everything was going normal until something happened. There was a fire. The fire alarms went off and everyone started to panic. I heard a teacher yell; "Everyone, Run outside! QUICKLY!" 

I was scared. I didn’t know what to do. I felt someone pull my arm, and turned around. It was Marcus. 
"Come on, we don't have much time left." We both ran outside and into the car. Marcus rushed to turn the car on. Once he did, he speeded to get out of the parking lot. We weren't near the school anymore. He took a different route from where my house was. "Where are you taking me? My house was down that street."

"We're going to my house. Your mom would freak out if she knew about the fire."
----
I took a deep breath. I had so many questions. 

"Why did it have to happen today? I'm freaking out. How did the fire even start? This is really confusing." 

"I know you're stressed out. Relax for me, please.." 

at marcus's house

"Follow me." he said, worried.
As he led me to wherever he was taking me, I could smell his cologne. It made me calm down a little but not fully. Soon, we were in his room. It was the same size as mine, but it was bigger. It had a modern theme to it. He took my bag from me and set it down next to his desk. He then sat down on his bed and I followed him. 

I bursted out crying. 

"I'm a princess so I've never experienced such a terrifying thing like this before.. I'm so scared!"

"Little lady.. relax. It was only a fire." he said, worrying more.

"I hate to see her hurt like this, even worse when she's crying. Wait, what am I thinking?"

"That doesn't matter, it was really confusing. I don't know what to do, and if my mom hears about this she's gonna freak out. It's really terrify-" I got cut off.

"Shhh," he whispered to me. "Just relax for me, you're really starting to scare me."

He then got closer to me, his aroma of cologne getting bigger and bigger the more he inched closer to me. He turned his head towards mine. I froze up again, not knowing what he was doing. He then gazed down at me, his blue eyes sparkling and said; "I'm worrying about you."
