Chapter 1

Sherlock Holmes, the man famous for his miraculous talents in deduction and being unbelievably intelligent, was called to the field in the first year of the war. He was brought to the attention of high military officers, and now was being brought to both fight and help in military tactics and preparations.Jessica Song and Sherlock had been married only four moths but have been together for years but got married before he was called to war so they would be married if anything happened to him. And, Sherlock was all Jess has left. She had her adopted parents but she didn't really care for them.They were expecting their first child in six months and they were told they were safe from the war. Thats why when Sherlock was called for war, they couldn't believe he was getting sucked into it. It was such a shock to both of them and neither of them were emotionally ready for being separated. But there was no way to change it now, he had to go or be killed for cowardice. Their last few days together consisted of mainly spending every waking moment together. Jessica was having the hardest time. She didn't want to have her child without him there. The thought frightened her and made her even worse at the thought of him never making it back and she'd be raising their baby all on her own. Both of them were going through so much, it was unbelievably hard for them. They worked together though to get through it and to plan for the worst. They made plans for his parents to help her if she did have any complications with the baby or if she needed help with anything else while he was away. All of this made it hard for Jess and she got emotional quit often because of her hormones as well as the thought of losing her husband. Sherlock supported her and helped her all he could, but it was hard for them both, and it even caused them to fight a bit. Jess hated it more than anything, and Sherlock did as well. Everytime they fought, it just ended with both of them together and happy again because they realized they didn't have much longer together. Jess feeling symptoms was the biggest thing that helped them stop fighting, it made them really realize that they need to take advantage of every second they had and that they needed to be together to get through this, not to spend the little bit of time they had left fighting. Soon, the day came for Sherlock to leave and their time together came to a close. It was going to be a day that neither of them would ever forget, as they would be separated for the first time in years, not knowing when they would ever see eachother again.
