Dean's POV
"Dean. Why did we have to move? Again!?" I sigh. "Sammy. I already explained this to you. Besides. I promise this is the last time." "That's what you said the last time." Sam huffs.
I reach over and ruffle his hair. "Do we even have enough money for our new place? It's too nice for us." "Relax Sammy. I told you before. Everything will be fine." "That's what you said last time." Sam said while rolling his eyes.
I pull Sam into a hug. "Why don't you head upstairs and unpack. I'll finish bringing boxes in." Sam nods and walks up the stairs. I walk out the door and open the trunk of the Impala. I grab a box labeled, 'Dean's Shit', I chuckle because Sam labeled that box.
I turn around and see a boy sitting in the grass across the street. He looked about my age. He was drawing in a notebook and not paying any attention to anything going on around him. I stared at him for a few more seconds until Sam walked out. "Dean. Hurry up. I'm hungry!" "Yea yea. Gimme a minute Sammy." I say shutting the trunk. Sammy walks back inside slamming the door behind him.
The boy looked up from his notebook and looks at me. I give a small wave, but he ignores me completely. I sigh and head inside.
Castiel's POV
I had noticed the boy but hadn't wanted to attract attention to myself. A door slammed and I looked up. The boy was good looking. In a guy way at least. He looked over and waved. I ignored him by continuing my drawing. When I looked back up, he was gone. "Thank god." I whispered to myself.
"Cas?" I looked up to see my brother Gabriel. "Yea?" "Can we go meet the new neighbors?" "You can go right ahead. I'll be right here." "Uh. Ok. See ya in a few then."
Dean's POV
Sam and I ended up eating some beef jerky that somehow ended up in one of the boxes. A few minutes later, there was a knock on the door. "Sammy can you get that?" Sam nods and gets up to answer the door.
"Dean? Come here a minute." Sammy yells from the front door. I walk over to Sam. There is a boy about Sammy's age standing in the front door. "Can we help you?" I ask while placing a hand on Sammy's shoulder. "My name is Gabriel Novak. I wanted to welcome you the neighbor hood. My brother wouldn't come over as well... But he didn't want to." "Well he sounds nice." I say and Sam hits my stomach.
"Sorry about Dean. He means well." Gabriel nods. "I'm Sam... By the way." "Nice to meet you Sam. Dean." With that he walked across the street to the boy in the grass. "Dean. Why do you keep staring at that guy over there?" I look to Sam. "Go unpack." Sam just rolls his eyes and walks upstairs.
I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding, and run a hand through my hair.
Gabriel's POV
That Sam kid was kinda cute. I thought to myself as I walked back to my brother. "Cas?" He looks up. "Are you just gonna sit here all day?" "Probably." I roll my eyes and sit down next to him. "Common! All you ever do is draw. Let's go do something fun!" Cas closes his notebook. "Like what Gabe?" "I don't know. Your older." Cas sighs and gets off the ground.
He walks into the house leaving me still on the ground. I could hear music coming from Sam's house. It was faint, but I could make it out.
They're gonna clean up your looks
With all the lies in the books
To make a citizen out of you
Because they sleep with a gun
And keep an eye on you, son
So they can watch all the things you do
Because the drugs never work
