Hi?
Okay, okay. I know this is definitely not the next week I talked about. But at least its just 11 days later. It could have been much worse. Just saying, you know?
Jokes aside, sorry for the delay. I have no one but Bridgerton to blame. I binged 16 hours worth of episodes in a week and immediately regretted it. But it was good. Especially the second season.
Anyway, happy reading!!

Rudra Pratap Singh opened his eyes to a familiar room. His aide came rushing having heard the sound that indicated his return to the world.
"You're back, Your Majesty?"
"No I exchanged souls with my human counterpart." Rudra muttered sarcastically already feeling tired enough to die. Tripping through dimensions had exhausted his soul.
"Your Majesty, should I prepare your official robe? The leader of your harem has asked for an audience." His aide ignored the sarcasm.
"Since when does my harem have a leader?"
"Since I came in." Gauri Trivedi announced her presence as she burst through the door.
"How can you even have the gall to barge into my room? Do you really want to die?" Rudra thundered but was ignored as Gauri turned to his aide.
"I don't want a mere servant looking at my face. Scram." She commanded with ease. Probably having torturing her servants in the name of authority for a long time.
Rudra signalled for his aide to leave as he levelled a glare on Gauri. "You just refused to answer a direct question from the King. Should I sign your death certificate already?"
"I knew you weren't all that intelligent. But how can you not even know that death certificates are signed by governers, not the King? You'd be signing hundreds of them every week if it was your duty, you dumbo." Gauri shook her head taking a seat right in front of him.
"Have you forgotten your manners? Should I really release a death warrent?"
"If you could, you would've already done that, stupid." Gauri cocked her head arrogantly. "Ah You were a lot smarter as a kid. I'll need to increase your average study time."
"Did we know each other then?" Rudra asked to distract himself from the fact that this Gauri talked just like the Gauri from Earth. Only she seemed to make that servant seem a whole lot less insufferable. But this was his enemy. He should not be thinking of her as a friend.
Gauri looked taken aback for a second before she composed her features into her usual resting bitch face. "You're forgetful too. Honestly, you really do need me to be your queen if you want any chance at survival."
"Unfortunately for you," Bhavya reprimanded as she entered the room leaving her guards and maids out, "that is a statement regarded as intent of treason. Why don't you beg before I get you put on the death row?"
Gauri turned to look at Bhavya and stared for a second. Then, she laughed. "If you guys want me dead, you'll have to sacrifice something."
"And why would we ever sacrifice anything for you?" Bhavya raised a brow, still standing at the closed door.
"Because door keepers aren't fit to be Queens." Gauri pointed to Bhavya's position with arrogance.
Rudra had already reached the end of his patience. He pulled out the sword beside him and kept it at Gauri's neck. "Apologize."
Gauri smiled wide despite the sword digging into the back of her neck. "You and I both know the second you harm my head, my father will take both of yours for revenge."
