𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑 𝐃𝐑𝐄𝐖 𝐇𝐈𝐒 eyes away from the monitors and to his phone as it began to ring.
He stood up, joining Charlie, Gideon, and Emily, who were huddled a step away, and he accepted the call before pressing the speakerphone button.
"You've got Gideon, Jang, Prentiss, and me," Spencer told the person on the other end.
"It's Hotch. We're at cell location number two—no cell members, no lab, no dispersal devices. We're still looking for escape tunnels."
Gideon nodded. "Call us."
Spencer sighed as he shut his phone. "We're running out of time; the attack's supposed to take place in less than twenty-four hours."
Emily gave a grim nod. "So getting Jind Allah to talk is our only chance of finding them."
Gideon sighed. "Time I confronted him with the truth."
"What are you gonna do?" Charlie questioned with furrowed eyebrows.
"Show him my hand."
As Gideon hurriedly went back towards the interrogation room, the three of them quickly settled back into their spots and put their eyes on the monitors.
Gideon sat down in front of Jind Allah, the guards still in the room. "I'm going to give you the respect of telling you what just happened. A team of agents just raided an Omega Cell location—actually, both of them. Our men are in place in Annandale as we speak. You gain nothing by remaining silent."
A small smile was on Jind Allah's face. "Jihad is forever."
Spencer's eyebrows furrowed as he looked at the monitor that was focused on Jind Allah's lap, and he watched as Jind Allah's fingers uncurled and relaxed onto his thighs.
"Something's wrong. His hands," Spencer pointed out before picking up the walkie-talkie. "Gideon, something's wrong. This guy seemed relieved by what you just told him."
Gideon's eyebrows furrowed, and to Jind Allah, he muttered, "Excuse me."
"Jesus," muttered Charlie, and Spencer's attention turned to her as she dug her cell phone out of her pocket and began to hurriedly dial a number. "It's a trap."
Once Gideon had stepped through the door, Charlie thrust the phone toward him.
"Is that Hotch?" Gideon questioned, and she nodded. He brought the phone to his ear as Hotch picked up, and quickly, he urged, "Get everybody out of there, now. Now! Now!"
Spencer stood up as the other two did the same, his eyes now on Gideon, who was pacing around the room, though he had turned the phone off.
They held their breaths until the cell phone rang, and Gideon immediately answered.
The other three waited, exchanging nervous glances, while Gideon only furrowed his eyebrows and gave curt nods. His deep sigh worried them.
As soon as he had hung up, Spencer worriedly asked, "Are they okay?"
"We were right about the trap," Gideon said grimly as he handed Charlie her phone. "It was rigged to explode. A SWAT agent was killed."
"Was anthrax involved?" questioned Charlie, though Gideon shook his head.
"No."
"Then that's not the final target," Spencer realized.
Gideon looked at the TV monitors and sighed. "I'm going back in."
