Preface

My eyes scanned the room, looking for something that stood out. Something that didn't blend in with the crowd.

Then I found her.

Standing alone. Her hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, and she wore a loose t-shirt with a pair of old worn out jeans.

There. She was the one.

The whole room was a mass of colorful people, girls in brightly colored maxi dresses, and guys with drinks in their hands, trying to get lucky. And there she was.

She was so plain, it was comical. She didn't fit into this crowd. She didn't belong here.

She looked around with a look of disdain on her face, like she had lost something in the crowd. I--without realizing--moved through the mass of drunk sweaty people, in her direction.

It seemed ironic that she was the complete opposite of my type. She was small, thin, with the body of a twelve year old. She looked like an innocent little girl. One look at her and you'd wonder what a girl like that, is doing in a place like this.

"She has to be someone you usually wouldn't talk to..."

Javier's voice played in my mind, like a mental check list, and I began ticking each requirement off as I neared the girl.

"She can't be someone you know, or that knows you."

Judging by the fact that her face brought no sense of familiarity to my mind, I checked that one off the list.

"She must be semi good looking..."

I checked that one off too. She wasn't a ten, but she definitely wasn't lower than a six.

"You have to make her fall in love with you by next Saturday."

She looks startled as I approach her, and give her my most charming smile. Her mouth hangs open for a moment as her big blue eyes take me in.

"Hello gorgeous, I'm Drew." I hold my hand out to her as the small lie leaves my lips. I figure if she doesn't know my real name, it'll be easier to drop her when the week is over. She swallows hard. I already make her nervous? This is going to be a piece of cake.

Her eyes quickly dart up to my face, and then she regains her composure. She looks away from me, back into the crowd with searching eyes.

"And why would I care?" She says distantly, before walking off into the crowd.

I look after her in shock, and confusion. I've never been rejected by a girl in my life.

Looks like this is going to be harder than I thought....

Hey guys!! I'm late but meh... same day no harm done!

Okay so I know that, that was horrifically short! I refuse to apologize for that... This is just a preview, just to provide you with a little more insight as to how the story will flow. So, don't kill me yet, there is still more to come!!

My next update will be Friday at 6pm(Just to let you know, most of my updates for this story will be at 6pm, because I am trying to stick to a schedule...), so stay tuned, and don't give up on me just yet, I promise I'm not wasting your time. I know how important time is, and how few there is of it, so I can assure you this is definitely worth it!

On another note, I will also be rewriting an old story of mine...the only other story that I have published on this site, Keep Me Warm Book #1 of the "Saved" Series. It is actually the very FIRST book that I've ever written, and also the most horrific, so I will be taking that down and reposting a different version, in a month or two, so it would be really cool if you checked that one out too!

Don't forget to vote and comment!! Thank you for your time and thank you for your support!
