The shop's bell tinkled a cheerful melody as Y/n pushed open the doors to Hanabira Bakery. Ririka trailed behind her, mask off and in her bag. It was too sunny of a day to have her vision blocked by it, anyways.

Purchasing a single large strawberry tart, the pair sat down outside the shop at a small table with two tiny chairs. "Ririka-san, I-"

"N-no, please let me say it." Ririka looked down at her lap. A bead of sweat stained her skirt as she tilted her head. "I'm so sorry for everything I've put you through. It's all been because of my... m-my incompetence. I can't ever express my feelings when it matters... I-I'm just so stupid..."

"But-"

"No!" Ririka cried out, snapping her head up. A single teardrop cascaded down her face, illuminating a trail down her pale face. "Y-you shouldn't forgive me! I've been so horrible to you. And I don't know why I did that, because I-I love you! And I know you don't love me anym-"

"Ririka, I do forgive you." Y/n finally spoke, calmly as the waters of a still lake. She reached across the table to clasp her warm, soft fingers through Ririka's pale and slender ones. "And of course I still love you. I never stopped, silly." She swiped her finger through the jam of the tart, and pressed it lightly on the platinum-haired girl's nose. "Boop."

Ririka blinked for a few seconds, comprehending what the girl said and asked, "Boop?"

"Boop." Y/n confirmed.

Ririka sighed, grasping tighter to Y/n's remaining hand. "I can be dense sometimes. I don't understand why I didn't say anything in the first pla-"

"No pasa nada, limonada!"  Y/n exclaimed, interrupting jovially. "It's all in the past now, we're good. It was kinda dumb of me to confess on a whim like that, you were totally caught off guard."

Ririka had no idea what the first phrase meant, but she took the latter one to heart. The day was bright, the birds chirped a melody throughout the early spring air, and the aroma of the fresh tart tantalized her. There was no use dwelling on spilled milk.

She picked up her knife, and cut a large piece for herself and one for Y/n. Slipping it onto two separate plates, she smiled softly with a light blush tinting her pale features. "I remember you said you loved strawberry tarts."

Y/n gasped, swooning. "You remembered!" She speared the piece with a fork, turning it upside down, and took a huge bite.

"Holy monkey shit nuggets..." She closed her eyes, savoring the piece in awe.

"Monkey... shit nuggets?"  repeated Ririka, a completely and utterly bewildered expression dancing upon her face.

Y/n practically spit out the bite, laughing loudly. "I-I've never heard you swear before!!"

"O-oh!" Ririka became flustered. "I was just repeating what you said! I've never said anything like that before!!"

Y/n's laughing subsided. "But seriously, this tart is-" She held up a sign to signify a chef's kiss. "Mm!"
