The next day came around and once Chris woke up, it was already 2 pm. He really wondered how the night went the way it did and what Brittney really needed. She wasn't just looking for a cheap hookup or anything, her troubles were far too serious for just that and so, it didn't take much for things to go wild.Chris:" It's like El Paso all over again."
Refering to his past and the crazy things he did back then, Chris went to the kitchen area of the apartement and downed a bottle of water in one go. He knew he was better than that, but sometimes things just get too overwhelming to consider anything else. Now, he wasn't a manwhore or something. That's not his style or how he wanted to be remembered. He was just the friendly neighbour others could count on. Washing his face, Chris woke up a little more.
Chris:" Ladies come first, sure. It's getting crazy."
For a Sunday, this was strange enough on its own and the scratch marks on his back didn't help. For sure the next person he would meet might look at him weirdly once they notice these. He put on his shirt and then lit a cigarette, contemplating which life choices brought him to this.
Chris:" I'm known to do some messed up stuff, but this is ridiculous. I should've listened to Morgan and maybe settle down with someone. Maybe that would keep me from doing stupid stuff like that."
Life didn't feel like it did before. Chris only called home once he got the chance. In his late teens, every other night was a new romance. And just like this day, he woke up just in time to miss most of it. Even one of his exes that he actually was on good terms with kept contact sometimes.
Chris:" The one that got away from me every now and then calls to see if I'm alive or plan to settle down. Not many people do....Gosh, I need to get out of this apartement."
Putting the cigarette out, Chris got up and finally left Brittney's home.
He was getting too far into his head in there and that never led to anything good. Sure, thinking about the past sometimes was alright and kept the brain working, but the content of said memories was mostly a wreckage. Chris was also sure he had some mail, missed calls or messages and stuff to take care of. For once he chuckled though and went up another floor to get to his own apartement, only to find the door unlocked and the smell of food hitting his nostrils. Intrigued by that, the texan went inside cautiously and was about to strike, only to find Morgan in the kitchen.
