Hey guys! This is my first story ever!! I hope you like it!

----------------------
Katelyn's Pov:
It's my first day of High school. Man! Could I ever be more nervous? Usually when I'm nervous I go to Josh for advice. But he's not here with me. It's our first time not being with each other on our first day of school!

Before I move on let me just say that Josh is not my boyfriend, nor will he ever be. He has been my best friend for as long as I can remember. We know every thing there is to know about the other. We are pretty similar with what we do or enjoy, and sometimes we can be completely different.

Anyway, it's my first day at Seton High school. A private high school for girls only. Almost all of the girls from my grade school are coming, but I never hung out with them. I plan on getting a fresh start this year. New sports, new classes, new music, new friends, all except my best friend. I mean even though we won't be going to the same school this year, he won't be far.

But have I forgot to mention that I'm nervous? Of course I have! I'm even more nervous because I'm basically a nerd. I have big bulky glasses, straight brown hair, hazel eye, and standing at 5'1".

I finally get to school and as I'm about to get out of the car my mom stops me.

"Now, if you ever worry don't be afraid to call me." She tells me.

"Thanks Mom! But don't worry about me. I'll be fine!" I assured her.

My mom was always the mom who worries the most on our first days of school. She'll be giving my brother, David, the same conversation next week, but in tears because it's his senior year. Yeah that's right, they start a whole week after we do! At least David and Josh will be going to the same school.

Well today isn't necessarily the first day of school, I mean it's only for the freshmen. To get us used to high school, show us around with our schedules, and to teach us to use our tablets.

I walk into school and there's a desk with staff ladies sitting there. I walk up to them.

"What's your name sweetie?" She asks me.

"Katelyn Taylor."

"Alright. Here's your sticky name tag with your home room in the corner. Go into the gym and just take a seat."

"Thanks!" I say. My parents always taught me to be polite, so everything is natural.

Inside the gym I sit next to some of my classmates from last year. I don't really talk to them. We have a small pep rally. Then we break off into home rooms and go around the school.

There's this one girl in front of the group. She looks so familiar. She doesn't look like she has many friends. Maybe I should introduce myself. I've been told that if 20 seconds of courage doesn't work, then walk away like nothing even happened. I walk up to her and introduce myself.

"Hey! I'm Katelyn."

"Hi! I'm Emily Smith." She replies.

"Wanna hangout for the day? I don't have many friends." I say quietly. Did I mention that I am extremely shy around people I don't know?

"Of course! Don't worry! I don't have any friends either. I had 2 friends all through grade school. One now hates me for no reason and the other left school 2 years ago."

Man this girl is really open. We spend the entire day together. Then its time to go home. Finally. I survived my first day.
