Chapter 3: Path to the New World

"And, I can feel it, and... RIGHT SIDE!" the blunette said pointing at one of the two paths. The white-haired male didn't move but just yawn in boredom.

"Why you can't accept that we are lost?" the albino said, 

"No! We aren't, we just came on the wrong path," the blunette said with an awkward smile. 

"What's the difference?" Shu whispered to himself. 

"I-it's okay. We will find the other way," the blunette stated. After knowing that there is an empire nearby, Valt and Shu start their journey to the feuer empire, but they mistakenly come up on the wrong path and lost their way. It will take some 5 days to visit the empire, but it's been 2 days since they lost their way. Valt was trying to calm Shu down who was blaming him to lost their path.

"Enough. I am going home," Shu stands up and starts leaving while Valt waited for a few moments to realize what the albino said.  When he heard his words, he freaked out and stands in front of him. 

"Wait, you can't leave in between. We are just started," Valt said. "We just started and get lost. I don't want to wander here and there with you in this forest. And as per the deal, I said I can leave whenever I want, so bye, have a nice journey." he finished and was about to cross the boy when valt knelt and looked at him with a dramatic cry. 

"Why are you crying like this?" Shu looked at him with a pale face. 

"Please, don't leave me here alone," Valt said with tears in his eyes, 

"Stop shedding crocodile tears. I am not leaving," Shu sighed. Valt stands up and shouted in joy. "He is too loud," Shu said covering his ears. "Now stop shouting and think how to get out of this forest." Said Shu. 

"I don't know how to," Valt said as Shu slapped his forehead. "Let's go right," Valt said, 

"We will be lost again. What's the guarantee that we will reach the exact destination?" Shu questioned. 

"You are overthinking. Just walk," Valt said as he start walking. Shu was not feeling good about walking in Valt's way, but he has no other choice. 

They keep walking when they heard a sound. "Huh? What was that?" Valt questioningly looked around. 

"We're not alone," Shu said with a sense of alertness as he Inspects the place carefully. He makes his attention to a white feather on the ground. 

"What's that?" Valt asked. "A feather of a bird, I guess, but something's wrong," Shu answered. "What is it?" the blunette looked at him anxiously. She was about to speak when a sudden cold breeze passed from between both of them as they were both alert.

"Tell me it wasn't just a breeze," Valt said.
"I guess the same. Very fast something passes," Shu said. Shu quickly looks at the sky when he found someone attacking them. They both ran in opposite directions. When they looked carefully, they saw a creature that looks like a leopard but actually, it was not. 

"It's a leopard?" Valt said. 

"Nope, It isn't. It kinda looks like it. It's a crocotta. It is a wolf-dog and is fast and dangerous. He eats flesh," Shu said making Valt more frightened. 

"Is it necessary to say that it eats flesh?" Valt said.
"Sorry," Shu apologise for his mistake when the crocotta attacked Shu as he defend himself.

Valt attacked it but it didn't affect the crocotta. He jumped on Valt and capture in hand in his sharp teeth. His teeth weren't gone inside Valt's skin but the crocotta's grip was tighter. 

"Shu!" Valt throws his sword at the albino when Shu catches the sword and pushes it inside the Crocotta skin. The crocotta howls in pain. Shu picked out the sword as the crocotta lost his grip. He lay on the ground as he died in mere seconds.
