Iris's POV

I hear chants and screams from an angry crowd in the distance. I see the village people marching towards the soldiers with harvesting tools as weapons. My father and mother are approaching swiftly with a shot gun in hand. They are screaming at the soldiers but I can' t make out what they are saying but I can feel their rage. I am swiveling my head in a panic. I am gripping Ally's hand tightly in fear.

I try to calm down and listen to what is going on. " We want our women back" I hear some of the people yell. "You can't take our daughter" someone else yells. I look at the courageous crowd of people and then look at the soldiers. The people don't stand a chance against the soldiers. The captain is yelling at the people to stand down but no one is listening.

All of a sudden I hear the words "CHARGE" scream out and the powerful hoofs of the horses. Most of the soldiers left us to attend to the angry crowd. I tried to run away but I was bound by chains and bound to 7 other girls. There was no way we were escaping these chains without a lock. I sat by and watched the battle helpless. The soldier who put the chains on us  reached behind him and grabbed a bow and arrow. He then lit it on fire and fired it at all the houses in the village. He was burning the village to the ground and all I could do was stand there and watch.

The other soldiers ran towards the crowd. Some on foot and some on horses with swords in hand. The shot guns would bounce off their armor and shields and deflect. As the soldiers got closer to the crowd I closed my eyes and heard the moans and screams of all the people getting swiped down by the swords. I open my eyes again to see swords dripping with blood. I closed my eyes again and kept them closed until the chaos ceased and silence fell.

When I opened my eyes tears immediately fell. I looked around and saw piles of dead bodies. Eyes were dull and hollow of life. Blood pooled on the dirt and stained the ground red. Some bodies were whole while others were in shreds. I can see the buildings and houses still on fire and some collapsing. The air is becoming hot and thick with smoke. No one was left standing. I looked around and then puked. Other women around me were crying and wailing over the loss of their loved ones. Husbands, fathers, sons, mothers, daughters, newborn babies, everyone was all dead. My gaze locked on my parents' bodies holding each other and bleeding out on the ground and everything around me silenced and my vision became red.
