Kelly pulled up to the Roxy Inn with her silver Ford fusion. The trunk was full of her suitcases. All of which contained her life's savings, toys and clothes. Everything else she left behind. Standing outside the Inn was Marvin and Heather along with Lucian. To her surprise, Brandi was outside with them, her black four door sedan looked fully loaded with boxes and cases of various things.

Even her trunk had to be strapped down since it was full of different drinks and alcohol.

"You decided to come too?" Kelly asked, parking the car next to Brandi.

"I couldn't pass up the opportunity to not only see a brand new world but also be the first owner of a kink community establishment."

"Fair point. You and I might have to talk further on that." Kelly winked.

"Oh? You want in on this action too?" Brandi chuckled.

"You know me. I'm down for anything." She smiled and looked to Lucian who had his duffle bag and six foot long black staff in hand.

"Are you sure about this?" He asked.
"If you are not positive that you-"

"I'm sure. Your highness." She winked.

"Hey you." Brandi pointed to Heather who looked at her in surprise. "Come join me in my car. It'll be a little cramped once Melanie puts her boxes in there too."

Heather looked to Lucian who nodded. Once they were all in, they drove off and headed to pick up Melanie.

With the help of her older brother and father, she carried her boxes downstairs and into the front yard.

"I'm gonna miss having you above my room." Her brother said as he hugged her tight.

"Promise you'll contact us as often as possible? Or at least write?" Her mother asked, tears in her eyes.

"Of course mom." Melanie replied and looked at her family. All at once, they moved in and had a large group hug with Melanie in the center. As their family huddle ended, the sound of two vehicles pulling up to the driveway took their attention. Lucian stepped out of the silver sedan and walked up.

"I guess this is it." Sally said, tears actively flowing from her eyes which betrayed the smile on her face.

"I'll contact you any way that I can as often as I can. I promise." Melanie said.

Lucian, along with Marvin, gathered up her boxes and loaded them into Kelly's vehicle.
After the last box was loaded, Lucian walked up to her family and rested a hand on Melanie's shoulder.

"She will be in the very best of hands." Lucian said.

"Thank you." Jack said and stifled his own tears.

Melanie walked to the car with Lucian and just before getting in, she looked back at her family and waved. Melanie had always imagined a day when she would leave the house and begin a life of her own. She never imagined that it would happen so suddenly though.

She closed the door and watched her family shrink away as Kelly drove off. They waved to her until she was around the bend of the driveway and ouy of sight.

"Are you ready?" Lucian asked, settling his hand on her thigh.

"I am. I've dreamt of this say for years. I'm still sad to see my family leave but I am excited to live out my life-" she glanced up at him, "-as yours."

"As am I. Once we get to the palace, we will officially begin the ceremony of claiming." He replied.

"Is it exactly as you wrote it?" She asked.

"Down to the very last detail."

"I can't wait." Melanie smiled.

"So, Heather." Brandi said, following Kelly's vehicle a couple car lengths behind. "What is Lucian?"

"What do you mean?" Heather asked.

"I mean, what is he?" Brandi asked.

"He is my lord. The king of Vervania."

'So, he really is King?' Brandi thought to herself.

"And what is he like as King?"

Heather considered the question for a moment as she watched the world go by outside the car window.

"It's just you and I here, whatever you tell me right here and now, I won't tell anyone."

"You swear upon your life?" Heather asked, a seriousness to her voice.

'Ah! Now I get the truth.' Brandi thought yo herself, a slight smirk. 'Give me the dirt.'

"Honestly. Lord Lucian..." Heather sighed. "...he is probably the most dedicated man I know. He is very modest and he doesn't like to ask too much of people. To an extent he might almost care too much."

Heather chuckled as she glanced out the window, missing the look of surprise on Brandi's face. "He deserves a woman who will serve him properly."

"Why does he? It sounds like he wants it but also, I don't know, needs it too." Brandi asked.

"It is the law." Heather replied as though it were simple fact.

"I thought he made the law?" Brandi replied.

"Not this one. This one was made by the lady of the land."

"Lady...of the...land?" Brandi asked.

"Yes. She is the deity of our world. It is her first of the three pillars."

"What are the other two?"

"Well the first one states that every person should be bonded with one of equal standing."

"Like a man and a woman?" Brandi asked.

"Not necessarily. Male, female or female, female or even male to male. The bonding has more to do with the energy of the person rather than what they are. Even some feline races and humans find relations together." Heather explained.

"Wait! Feline? As in cat?"

"Well yes. Do you not have Katsi in your world?" Heather asked.

"Uh...no. we don't have cat people."

"Oh. Then I assume you don't have Vikero either. You will find a great many surprises when we get there." Heather smiled.

"So I am beginning to see." Brandi nodded and turned into the KCC parking lot which was empty.

"Wait here and follow them in." Heather said as she got put of the car and walked to the edge of the parking lot. With the small handheld portal reader in hand, she hit the small button at the top and set the device on the ground. Gears turned within the silver device forcing the lid to open outward revealing a set of small gems that spun around twelve dials.

As the gears moved the gems into proper alignment, a flare of energy rippled outward causing the air to shudder. Heather stepped back and watched the space between the device and the open air ten feet above the ground, split open.
