When will this all end...

Chapter 3

I open my eyes slowly as I wake up with my head on the desk. I look up and check the time on my pc, it was 3:00pm on a Monday I had slept all day. I sit up and grab the hoodie that was on my floor. I put it on and grab my phone, it was dead. I get up and plug it in to charge while I grab some food.

I walk downstairs to find my mother sitting on the sofa with a news paper in her hand, I quietly say "mum" she turns around to find me standing there awkwardly as I don't know what to say. I ask her "since when did you start reading newspapers?". She replies "I'm surprised your out your room, and oh this well uh I just decided I wanted to start reading the news instead of watching it you know". I look at her and say "okay well-" I was stopped when I look over her shoulder to see the newspaper had a picture of the car, the car I was in, the car my dad died in, I read a little part of the paragraph written under the image the first thing I read is my fathers name "Paul" I look at my mother again and say "You don't have to lie to me, I see the newspaper has dad's accident on it". Her head drops and she says "I didn't want to upset you and tell you that's it's all over the town's news." I look at her and nod as I walk to the kitchen, the cupboards were empty. I look in the fridge to see nothing but out of date milk.

My mother walks in and says "I'm sorry I haven't been able to go shopping I just cant face people questioning and talking to me about everything". She walks over to me and hands me her credit card "Here take that and order yourself something". I look up at her and say "thank you" as I walk back up to my room. I pick my phone up and it's finally charged, I see lots of notifications but ignore them as I know what they were going to say. I think of what I want and decide to have dominos as it was dad's favourite. I scroll on dominos and pick some food, I order everything and play some cod as I wait for it to come.

I hear the door ring about 40 minutes later, I take my head set off and rush downstairs and open the door to find my best friend standing at the door with my order. she looks at me and says "I'm so sorry" she puts my food on the floor next to me and hugs me tightly, I hug her back and I start to tear up, "I'm so sorry I didn't answer your messages" I say, She looks me in the eyes and says "Your going through a lot right now I'm not expecting you to answer I just came to cheer you up a little bit, I know this isn't great timing but I turned up when the pizza guy did so I asked him if I could bring it in for you", "I'm happy your here, come in, at least I have someone who can eat all this food with me now" I say as I wipe my tears.

We go to my room and we start to eat, we talked for hours about random stuff. She took everything off my mind I was distracted for a while.
