“Talk to me. What’s going on? What happened just now?”

I opened my mouth to say something, but no words came out.

“Hang on, no – keep your eyes open, hey – do you hear me? Can you nod if you hear me?”

My eyes slid closed, and somewhere in the fog, I heard the Manager Sejin calling out to the others. At last, I let myself fall, and the darkness embraced me.

I wanted to know what Irene's answer was before I died...

I rushed over to the dorms when Namjoon answered but his face went to a relief and a disappointment in a second.

"Do you know where Hoseok is?" I asked hurriedly, thinking I could change his mind about moving out of the group.

"No, he stormed out of the dorms about thirty minutes ago, saying that he would go back to Gwangju somehow and he hasn't came back since," Namjoon informed and I got worried, saying goodbye and leaving as soon as possible.

Running through every street, I finally found Hobi crossing the road blindly without seeing the car that was coming at full force by a drunk driver.

"Hoseok! Hoseok!" I yelled, running over but Hobi didn't hear me, stopping in the middle of the road.

"Oh Emily, I did it, I left BTS so we can be together," Hoseok said wobbly, sounding drowsy but it didn't matter.

"Hobi, we need to get off the road!" I screamed but Hoseok didn't seemed affected, holding onto my hand.

"Is the answer to my question a yes?" Hobi questioned, his eyes never leaving mines.

"If I answer your question, will you please move from here," I pleaded, my eyes darted to the car advancing closer towards us.

I took a deep breath and set my hands on Hoseok's cheeks, bringing him closer so I would give my last kiss. I nodded for the answer and then used all of my strength to push Hobi away as the car right in front of us.

The driver must have gotten to his senses since the horn was being pressed loudly but it wasn't enough as the car hit me hard, making me land a few feet away.

It didn't matter anyways if I didn't get hit by the car but I would have to leave here soon.

"Irene! Irene, please stay with me!" I heard, opening my eyes to see Hobi having tears streaming out of his eyes.

"Hobi, don't try, it's my time to go but promise me this, that you'll go back to BigHit and become one of the famous dancers in the world, please, at least promise me that and maybe you'll visit me in London one day,"

There was silence for a moment, Hoseok's mouth opening and closing before he nodded and I slowly closed my eyes. I hope I fulfilled my mission...

"Irene? Irene!" I begged, saying Irene's eyes closed and never open again. Taking matters into my own hands, I set Irene on my back and started to run towards the hospital.

Gradually, I felt the weight on my back get lighter until I looked back to see there was nothing on my back. I looked around and saw no Irene laying on the ground, concluding that I was just imagining things but the blood was still on my hands...

Knocking on the dorms door, Namjoon answered it and he looked relieved but then worried when he saw my face. Terrified and shocked.

"Did something happened Hoseok?" Namjoon questioned and I nodded, feeling the tears that stopped before start again.

"Irene, she's dead, the car hit her and she saved my life! Why! Why did she die!" I said, my voice getting louder and louder until crying was just heard as I clunged onto Namjoon's shirt.

After hearing my ranting, Jin Hyung came over to see what all the noise was about. He didn't expect to see Hoseok holding onto Namjoon like a koala and crying his eyes out.

For the whole week, Hobi was assigned to an therapist and Irene's body was never found so the police left it as an unsolved case....
