after what happens at a party that leads to johnny suh kissing him, ten is completely confused on whether he likes him back or not. johnny, on the other hand, is too nervous to confesss. cue their friends trying...

the reason why ten ended up in a party he originally didn't even want to go to is completely his fault. not the friends he came with whatsoever. they only brought up the idea and ten gave in because he felt bad about them teasing him for missing out.
ten agreed to go just to stop their teasing and if they promise to stay with him the entire time and not leave him behind somewhere. sicheng and taeyong assured him that they wouldn't, but ten still gave them the side eye. if something else interested them enough, they'd dip at the first chance.
that leads to now. ten stuck between sicheng and taeyong like glue, immediately regretting his decision to come in the first place. there was no alcohol or drugs to his relief, but the music was too loud and hurt his ears.
ten couldn't take a single step without bumping into someone else, but no one acknowledged that he accidentally did so. he figured it was expected for people to brush each other constantly in a party like this, so no one cared enough to say anything about it.
"do you see them anywhere?" taeyong asked, looking in the direction of other people on his left. "i can't see them at all."
"if you can't, i can't either," sicheng retorts. "they said they were coming as well."
ten furrowed his eyebrows, looking at taeyong before looking at sicheng. "uh, who's coming exactly?"
"oh, we didn't tell you!" taeyong says with a laugh and ten turns his head to frown at him. "jaehyun and yuta came, too."
then ten knew he was going to left out. ever since jaehyun asked taeyong out, they've been attached by the hip. most of the time, wherever taeyong is, you'll find jaehyun too. sicheng, on the other hand, decided to lie and say he wasn't seeing yuta until he was caught being a bit too busy kissing him. that's when he confessed that they had started to dating a few weeks ago at the time. now, it's been an entire month of them being together.
plus, ten doesn't want to be around taeyong and sicheng when jaehyun and yuta come along. they'll be too focused on keeping their attention on their boyfriends and he'll just be left out, like usual. once he sees the look on taeyong's face brighten at the sound of jaehyun calling their names, he crosses his arms across his chest, his frown remaining. he has to prepare to pushed aside to the third wheel.
taeyong makes a beeline for him, immediately jumping into jaehyun's open arms once he reaches him, pulling him into a hug with a loud, "jae!"
"hey yong," jaehyun says happily, letting his boyfriend peck him on the lips. "when did you get here?"
"a few minutes ago," taeyong answers, still hugging onto jaehyun. "where's yuta?"
"he's getting a drink," jaehyun answers, patting taeyong's back. "let's sit down."
taeyong didn't want to let go of jaehyun, so he carried him along the brief distance between where they stood and the couch where jaehyun had been originally sitting. taeyong attaches himself to jaehyun still when they do sit down, ten making sure to sit off to the side. sicheng does as well, looking around before talking.
