What? What is happening?
We followed them to the principal's office and there were another two officers.
"Something happened?" I ask curiously. We didn't do anything so why are we here.
"Please sit" the principal said and nodded his head at one of the officer's.
"Your friend, Kiara Miller was found dead this morning" one sentence that shattered my heart into million pieces. What? This can't be true right?
"What?" We ask at the same time. They give us those 'sorry for your loss' look and look down.
"You-no-you're lying, she's not dead. She- she can't be" Luke stutters as he cries and I cry more.
"H-how and why? What happened? This can't be true" He continues tears rolling down his cheeks.
"No" I cried out, the first words that I got out of my mouth.
"She can't be dead-she can't" I sobbed looking at them to start laughing and tell us that this is not true.
"She overdosed herself with pills and one of the neighbours who gives her eggs every morning like he said, called the police because he said that he knew that she'd open the door, doctors tried to save her but.." I sobbed, I think that I've never cried this much. No. Kiara. Kiara can't be dead. No more talks with her. Her stupid jokes, her stupid nicknames, we knew each other when we were kids. No more hugs from her, no more movie nights with her, sleepovers with her.
"We called you because there were USBs and on one of them was yours name on it, so here is the USB" the officer gave me the USB and I looked at it feeling tears on my lips, on my cheeks, even on my neck.
"Maybe you'd like to watch it," the officer said and gave us a sad smile.
"I'm so sorry for your loss, she was a great student and I'm very aware of how you feel right now so you may go home" the principal said with a sad look.
I didn't wait another second and ran out of the office, Luke came immediately after me.
"This can't be happening" I sob out and he goes and hugs me tightly, I immediately hug him back, giving him the tightest hug ever.
"I can't imagine living without her, Chloe. Please, please promise me that you won't leave me" he sobs into the crook of my neck.
"Please, please Chloe please" I nod and say. "Of course I won't leave you Luke, but promise me the same" I whisper-sob.
"I promise, I promise" I just couldn't stop crying, I just couldn't stop it.
After a few minutes of us just crying silently I finally took a step back from Luke to look at him properly. Seeing the pain in his eyes hurt me even more.
"Wanna go to my place?" He asked clearly not wanting to be alone, I mean his mom is home but still.
"Yes, let's go" I whisper sadly, he grabs my hand and leads us to the parking lot to his car.
