Is This Okay?

A day went by and Jotaro went to the psychologist provided by the Speedwagon Foundation. When he came to me afterwards, he told me that he felt like he was on the right track. Whatever that meant, I'm glad. He was almost at ease with that possibility of some relief.

Good for him. I was really content that he didn't have to rely on me completely. I was not professional help, and this was taking a toll on my emotions. Don't get me wrong, I wanted to be there for him when he needed help, but I couldn't do everything.

It was a few days later and after yet another appointment, Jotaro was at the beach, knee deep in the water. I  came out seeing Jolyne at the porch. She was sitting on a chair relaxing. She was staring out looking out of it. She seemed melancholy.

I looked out seeing Jotaro bending down to look into the water. His pants rolled up, but it was still wet on the edges. The cherry earring dangled from his ear. He was wearing the earring. He didn't have a care in the world as he stuck his hand into the water.

I sat down beside Jolyne. "Hey, how are you doing?"

"Hunh?" Jolyne said snapping out of it.

I repeated, "How are you doing?"

Jolyne was timid as if she had something weighing on her mind."I'll live."

"Honey, Jolyne," I consoled. "Is it the water?"

"No," she said. "I'm just thinking about things."

I waited for her to continue.

"It's like..." she sighed. "We've been through all this, and it's like the world moved on like nothing happened. The world was almost reseted. The world as we knew it was almost destroyed." She shivered, "It doesn't feel right. Why do I get all the nightmares and go through all this, and everything is just... normal?"

I nodded. She had a point. I just had no idea what to say about it. I just wanted to show my support for her. I placed my hand over hers and gave a gentle squeeze.

I saw what happened in their last moments with Pucci. It was nightmarish. Just imagining being there in person sounded terrifying.

Jolyne stared out at her father who just pulled out something from the water. She said, "You know, I envy him." A pause. "He doesn't have to remember what happened. The constant reminders... almost every night... I hate them."

I nodded some more. "Must be terrifying."

"You have no idea."

I didn't.

We stare at Jotaro a little longer. He placed the sea creature back into the water. A small smile grew on his face.

"PTSD," she said. "Hermes said that it could be that. She said that's what Emporio has."

"Oh," I said. I was always so focused on Jotaro, I couldn't see what was going on with her. I haven't even seen Emporio or Hermes since they were at the hospital. I was staring at Jotaro who put the sea creature back into the water.

She called my name, getting my attention. "I have to thank you for being there for me and for Dad as well. Having someone around who know what's going on is a bit refeshing."

"It's no problem at all. I would do it again."

Suddenly, Jotaro appeared outside of the water. Then he appeared closer to us. Each time he appeared to teleport closer to us. Then he appeared on the porch. He quickly walked over to us. He said alarmed, "I can stop time!"

I quickly covered my mouth as I had to stop myself from laughing. "Yes. You've been able to do that for a while now."

"Really?" Jotaro said perturbed. He seemed to blip from one place to another. "Did you see that?"
