The nightmare

Harry bolted upright, his heart pounding. He looked around, and reassured himself that he was safe, and everything was fine.

On the other side of the room, Draco was sleeping soundlessly, his bed covers perfectly straightened. Harry's, on the other hand, were strewn about, completely wild. "It looked so real.", the thought ran through his head, making the boy shudder. He grabbed the covers and pulled them back onto the bed, just hoping that he would not have another nightmare. He wondered what Draco was dreaming about, since the said boy had a peaceful smile on his face. He wondered if he was dreaming about bathing in a sea of hair products. Knowing Draco, that dream was probably happening. He wondered about what Sylvia was dreaming. Probably about becoming a popular hair stylist or finding herself in a meadow of dolls.

As Harry was thinking about this, he laughed, then immediately clapped a hand over his mouth. He heard Lucius's footsteps down the hall . There were hushed voices, and at least 5 different ones.

Unluckily, his laugh had woken Draco up, and he clapped a hand to Draco's mouth, who usually shouted, or grumbled after he woke up. After his laugh, the last thing he needed was another noise, of course, to show Lucius that they were awake. When they heard the footsteps depart, Harry told Draco about his nightmare.

"There was a flash of green light, then I heard screaming." he said. "Sounds like it was the killing curse." Draco replied. "But how could it be that?" Harry asked, "It's not like I've ever seen someone get killed by the killing curse.". "Who knows?" replied Draco, "Maybe you have. You weren't living with us forever, we just found you on our doorstep.". Harry pondered the matter for a moment, and sat down on the floor. He pried a loose floorboard from under his bed, and pulled out a book.

It was the only thing that had been left with him. It was actually a secret compartment, and not a book at all. It contained another smaller book, which was filled with pictures. An old ring with the initials L.E.P. Finally, there was a key, but Harry had no idea where it came from or what it went into. For the first time, he shifted his attention to the book. He picked it up, and opened it. There were pictures of two people, but mostly they were surrounded by other ones as well. Harry and Draco examined it. "Hey! They look familiar!" Harry exclaimed. "Hmm," Draco said, "You know, that one kind of looks like you."

"Don't we have a pile of old Daily Prophet articles in the attic?" "Yes," Said Draco , "I think those people are in front of one of them." The boys trooped up to the attic, sat down and started sorting through the prophets. "Not that one." Draco said, chucking it over his shoulder . It hit Harry , who was sorting through another pile. "Hey! That hurt!" Harry exclaimed. "Look!" Harry said, "This one has an old ad for Magical Veela Hair Products! "I remember when they used to make those, they were perfect." Draco said with a sigh. Harry chuckled quietly. "Hey! This one! It's got a book called 'Dreams and How to Interpret Them'. We could get it, and maybe figure out my dream!"

"Sounds good! Let's take them, so we remember them later." Draco noted. Harry coughed. "It's really dusty up here, how about we check after breakfast. It's 7 in the morning anyway."

"Okay, but let's shower first. All this dust could ruin my hair." Draco complained. "Fine." Harry replied.
