Even before Benjamin's dad left, he and his mother weren't close. They talked when they needed to, shared brief conversations in the car, but nothing more.Benji enjoyed his own company. In the darkest corner of his room. No sound besides the music playing from his phone or laptop. Sometimes his mother would worry that he wasn't social enough but with grades like his, she couldn't complain.
Typically, Benji had straight A's. He attended every class but he wasn't a suck-up. He's the quiet kid in the corner who speaks only when spoken to. Outside of school, the friends he did speak to were lowlifes but they knew how to have a good time. In Benji's life, he needed some of that. In all honesty, he loved school and what his had to offer. Plenty of hot girls. Nice enough teachers. Except for one.
Mr Arman.
Arlo Arman was Benjamin's English teacher. He probably would be a good teacher if they didn't hate each other's guts. As I said, Benji is a speak when spoken to person and he seemed to do a lot of speaking in that class. Mr Arman constantly picked on Benji during class, you'd rarely see someone else answer, and it was noticeable. Most students have given up trying to answer. It's not like Benji doesn't know the answers, he does. He was just irritated.
Mr Arman just always seemed to have it out for Benji. He has two double periods of English a week and often has Mr Arman as a substitute when his Spanish teacher couldn't be bothered to show up. Besides his Spanish teacher, Mr Arman was the only other bilingual teacher at his school.
So all in all, Benji had him a lot. But today he had both Spanish and English with him, so Benji knew it was going to be a long day.
First period was Spanish, which he happened to arrive late to.
'Bro hurry up. You'll make me late for first.' Benji insisted to his friend. Robby Dorner. Where do I begin with Robby Dorner? He was Benji's best friend, probably the only good one he has. Never shows up to class mind you but a lady's man for sure. A hopeless romantic and a bit of a madman. This basically explains why they're late.
'Calm down, we'll get there in time to see your favourite teacher.' He winks back. He knows that makes his blood boil.
'Haha not funny.'
'I don't see why you dislike him. He's always been nice to me?'
'Robby that's because you've been to a total of two of his classes.' Benji smirks.
'Wipe that smug look off your face, you're just jealous that I have a life and you don't.' Robby fires back the same smirk as if challenging him.
'You wish. You're the one slipping notes into girls cars like a creep.'
'It's not creepy, it's romantic. My apologies that romance repulses you.' Robby finishes and slips his note into a car. Benji assumes he knows whose but this isn't the only note he's written and boldly slipped into cars.
Fair to him though, it has landed him girls. More than Benji. In fact, you rarely find Benji with a girl. He blames it on his lack of ability to be interested in romance but something inside him disagrees.
'If you knew what was good for you, you'd stop writing these ridiculous letters.' Benji crosses his arms and leans against the car.
'If you knew what was good for you, you'd get to class before Mr Arman eats you alive.' He laughs and walks away from the car.
Mr Arman's class. Shit.
The first-period bell had already gone, meaning he was late. Benji hurries inside. He bites at his nails anxiously on the way, expecting the worse from his teacher.
