"Where's the carrot??"
Laughter filled me looking at him search for the carrot that was in his pocket. He finally realized and stopped his tracks. He gave me a foolish look. My cheeks were getting tired from smiling hard.
I started rolling my last ball of snow. I placed it on top of my big ball, patting it down to secure it. With the pebbles inside my pocket, I made a face that of a girl, to match his of a boy.
We put our scarves on our snowman couple, to finish the final look. We stepped back to admire the snow. "It's just like us. Happy.. and cold."
He nods his head in agreement. A big smile stood on his face, looking like it'll never leave. That's all that mattered to me. His warm smile.
"Can't wait for spring. We can set up a special picnic at the top of the hill in the park."
I'd think my face would go numb from all this smiling. He probably noticed, since he threw a snowball at me. "Hey!" I laughed. I picked up some snow and chased after him.
Joy. It was tingling in my body. I didn't want anything to take this away from us. I'm happy.
We stopped our tracks, laughing. He held my face, putting his forehead on mine.
"This is all I could ask for."
He looked into my eyes, deeply. It was warm again.
*Thud*
We looked back and saw that his snowman fell apart. We laughed and looked back at each other. "You suck at making snowmen."
