Chapter 4

Jiwoo woke up from feeling like he was being choked, while it was Kaydens fault for laying on him, he wouldn't tell him that. He told Kayden how the nightmare could have been from the incident before speaking about his worries.  "Thank you... for worrying about me," Jiwoo smiles, "other than Y/n it feels nice to have someone to worry for you." When he said that he couldn't help but feel slight guilt, he wanted to protect Y/n, he doesn't want them worrying for him, he only wants that smile present not pity.

"S...shut up! I... I'm not worried about you!" Kayden protested.

"Huh? No?"

"Of course not!" He yelled, "I'm only telling you this because you treated me well!"

"Ah... that's it."

Kayden wouldn't admit he had worried for the two, it wasn't like him... Even if he knows the dangers Jiwoo is in, he couldn't help but think about them and when they will visit again, last time he could only see them for a bit since he was asleep. That's strange he thought, why is he thinking about them when they aren't even around? He wasn't the only one thinking about Y/n however, as the two stayed in a short silence they had the same thought: when will they come?

Clearing his throat, Kayden told him that he can help control his powers. Jiwoo got excited and called Y/n, "I know it's late Y/n, but it's important so please come!" With that a quick conversation goes, ending in Y/n running to his house. He felt guilty but this will be interesting for them, and he missed them even if it hasn't been that long, Kayden stayed silent at the exchange, he could tell this boy really liked Y/n.

"I'm here!" Opening the door to his house panting you were greeted with no one in sight other than the three cats looking up at you. Feeling nervous since Jiwoo hadn't told you anything before you had come, you see him going up the stairs towards you, grabbing your hand he smiles and starts telling you about what's happening, leading you downstairs without letting you say anything. Going down there you see Kayden, "hi, how are you Kayden?"

"Good." He seemed distant, maybe he didn't like you? You couldn't help but feel sad since he may possibly dislike you and he was adorable, not noticing Jiwoo with his eyes on you in shock, again he thought, again you asked about Kayden not him. 

"We were talking a little about how to control my power!" Quickly he recovered from his shock, walking towards Kayden and sitting in front of him. 

Looking at them confusingly, you see Kayden extend his paw asking for Jiwoo to come closer, placing his paw on his chest he starts speaking, "listen carefully, the power is in your heart. The power spreads to the rest of your body like blood." Staring at the two with wide eyes, Kayden continues, "I'm going to channel my power into you, let you feel how powers move and grow. You have to remember that feeling and do it yourself one day." Emitting something blue from his paw, you could see Jiwoo struggling, ready to go towards him Kayden turns his head towards you as if a warning to not disturb. He knew the effect you had on this kid. As he felt the early awakened was ready, he increased his power shining a beautiful blue. "It will be to do what I taught you on your own," he tiredly said, "but if you try hard for the next several months..."

"Wow... I can control the power with your method!" Jiwoo was happy he was able to control his power, and Kayden was confused about how was this possible.

"Pretty..." Kayden looked towards you, who had their mouth open slightly, looking at the energy with eyes filled with admiration. He felt like he couldn't breathe for a second, you cant call it that, when you don't know what it has caused. However, that look on your face was beautiful and he couldn't look away. He felt warm.

Having moved upstairs, you were sleeping soundly on the sofa, the other two sitting in silence. Jiwoo was focusing on controlling the energy around his body, which had left Kayden in surprise, it's only been a few hours. The two started quietly speaking to each other, when his phone started ringing, "we are going to be late! Wow, already? Time flies." As he was running up, Y/n got up from the sofa yawning with messy hair, you too had ended up going late since you were interested in this too. You two left the house in a hurry, not before feeding the cats that is.

You two had made it in time. Being in class was boring, and sadly you couldn't concentrate too much, looking towards Jiwoo, you could tell it was the same for him. Ever since Kayden came into the picture Jiwoo became stronger, and you where happy since he seemed happy. But this gave you worry, this means that there are people like him, meaning someone might want to hurt him, you also remember Kayden mentioning how people with these powers saw themselves as above ordinary people, does that mean they will look down on Jiwoo because he found out recently? Will they look down at you? Will Jiwoo... leave you for people like him, frowning at that thought.

After constant thinking you hear your friends name yelled loudly, "Jiwoo! Get up right now!" Your teacher didn't look happy, "this is getting out of hand... what's wrong with you lately? All you do is sleep through class." Jiwoo looked confused and the teacher confronted him on that, the class started laughing, while you did too, smiling at him. He was pushing himself hard, you where proud. The teacher mentioned that he was going to let Jiwoo off this time.

The next part startled you, "does anyone know why Wooin is absent today? He's not picking up his phone." The teacher looked around, "is anyone friends with him or have a way of contacting him." You had just met the silent boy, but you hoped nothing bad happened to him. Noticing Jiwoo looking at where Wooin would sit, you could tell you have the same thought.

Walking out of class, we both started walking back. I could see he was still worried, "I bet Kayden is waiting for us!" You smiled at him, which made him stop for a moment. Why, why have you been so fixated on Kayden, not him, did he do something wrong? He doesn't recall doing anything wrong, wait. Has he been pushing you away by accident by being near Kayden? That must be it!

Grabbing onto Jiwoos hand you look at him, "is everything okay?" You asked, you finally asked, he smiled brightly, "yes, everything is just fine!" He looks away for a moment, "also, I'm sorry if I have been pushing you away, that wasn't my intention..." You look at him wide eyed, quickly smiling, "don't worry, I know you are working hard!" You squeeze his hand more, and start walking, not noticing Jiwoos slight blush. As you where walking, he stops for a moment, peeking past him you see a few kids picking on Wooin.

"Hey, I told you to bring it, why didn't you." Throwing his bag contents onto the floor, there was a lot of cat food, and they made a comment on that.

"Wooin! What are you doing over there?" Jiwoo looked like he wasn't reading the room at the moment, but you glared at the boys, noticing the third one just watching. He was looking at you too, he looked familiar and you saw his eyes widen. Looking at the boy, who was staring at you, you didn't notice what was happening with the two boys, and Jiwoo, also not noticing Wooin looking at the both of your interlocking hands.

Your eyes widened as one of the guys tried to hit Jiwoo, and he dodged, the guy was getting frustrated so his friend started swinging too. Even if Jiwoo wasn't anywhere near being touched, you grabbed the boys hand, making a loud sound, "you should stop, there are people staring." You smiled while glaring at them, Jiwoo was trying to help and they where going to hurt him for that? So stupid.

"What the hell are you guys doing," the boy who stayed silent and watched says, breaking his eyes away from you, "you assholes are embarrassing me." He looked back at you with a weird glint in his eyes. Then to Jiwoo, "you are the kid who keeps feeding the stay cats, right?"

Jiwoo was confused, "yeah, how'd you know?"

The boy turned his back to us, "you better watch your back," he starts walking away, "I won't let you off easy next time." He and his goons started walking away further, and Jiwoo turns to see you helping Wooin with putting his things back into his bag.

Him not even looking at you, "Wooin are you alright?" He says nothing and gets up, we start following him, Jiwoo trying to talk to him, while you looked at him concerned. Jiwoo was talking to him which was one sided, before Wooin said he needed to go a different direction, the two of you waving him goodbye.

You where going to go to your house to fix some things, walking further you hugged Jiwoo and made your way home, him looking at your form sadly.

Coming home again, you felt unease, like someone was watching you. Finishing your chores and making dinner, the feeling didn't go away. Trying not to think of anything, you play some music outloud, trying to relax. Outside your window, you heard what sounded like a ringtone, someone cursing and running away. It was your favourite song.
