Finch (Foxface) pov
Early in the afternoon, I heard 2 cannons. Then, not half an hour later, I heard three almost consecutive ones. I guess the Careers broke the alliance. No other possible explanation. I wonder which of them are still alive? Because I know at least one of them is alive. But no matter, I couldn't possibly beat any of them in hand to hand combat. Or that huge guy from Eleven. Is it too much to hope that he's gone already? Maybe they got him and that's why they decided the alliance was over. Now it's night and in a few short moments, I'll know exactly who is dead.
The anthem plays and the first to appear is Glimmer, followed shortly by her district partner, Marvel. Oh no. There's 2 careers left, please don't tell me they're both alive? But no, Cato from Two also makes an appearance in the sky. Then the boy from Three and the boy from TEN.
So Clove and Thresh. I gulp, they're both too tough for me. Even if they fight and one kills the other, I have no chance. I've seen Clove throw those knives. She can kill me before I get one step close to her. And Thresh is just plain huge and strong. I absentmindedly look around and my eyes land on the solution to my problem.

Clove pov
After killing Cato yesterday, I left the area long enough for the hovercraft to pick up the bodies. After it left the third time, I went back to the cornucopia and that's where I've been ever since. I haven't even slept, for fear that Five or Eleven may try to ambush me, knowing everyone else is gone. So I lay awake all night inside the cornucopia, with 2 knives always in my hands, in case they come. Right now, I'm munching on some dried fruit. I'm not really hungry, but I'll need it because today is for sure the last day. And it's always a huge fight.
Around noon, I hear some loud noise. I cautiously go to the mouth of the cornucopia and I find the source of the noise. I see smoke coming from the drop-off, where I know there's a field of grain and that's where Eleven is. I tense up, ready for a fight. I know it's the gamemakers bringing him to me so this can end. I'm gonna keep my promise to Cato, I'm going to bring honor to my District. I have to.
I see Eleven coming my way. I clutch a knife in my hand, aim and throw it to him. It misses by inches. He keeps charging toward me with a short, heavy sword in his hand. I have an other knife ready, but I don't throw it yet. I wait for him to reach me and just as I slice at him-catching his shoulder, he swings at me with his sword and I feel great pain in my side. I try to ignore it and turn to him.
" I know you're big, but I didn't think you would make it this far" he says nothing, instead swings at me again but I dodge to the side, I'm too fast for him. " You know, it was fun killing your little friend. Rue was it? The others wanted a part of the fun, but I didn't allow it. She was all mine" I didn't really kill the kid, no that was Glimmer. But I'm using a tactic Enobaria taught me to make him so angry, he won't be able to focus. Then I'll strike.
I immediately see his reaction. He's furious. " YOU KILL THE LITTLE GIRL?!"
I grin. " You knew she wasn't gonna make it anyway" he swings at my head and I just barely have time to duck in time so I'm not beheaded. " Aww you're angry? Well too bad you weren't there to help her" I really mean that. We ran into the little girl by the river. She was all alone, I couldn't bring myself to kill her. She was too young. But that bimbo had other ideas. Glimmer stabbed the poor thing first in her leg, then she slit her throat. I watched only because I couldn't show any kind of weakness or regrets in front of all of Panem. But if this guy had been there, maybe she wouldn't have died in such a painful way. So it's his fault.
After he misses a third swing at me, I finally grow tired and I throw my knife at his right knee. He stumbles and drops to his knees. He glares at me and I throw a second knife, this one at his chest. He tries to muffle his cry of pain.
" You were never going to win, Eleven. Your District hasn't had a winner since that guy who lost his hand. And that was years ago" I grim wickedly at him. " I'm gonna win for my District. For my family. For Cato"
He just keeps glaring at me. You have to admire this guy's bravery. Even this close to his death, he won't show fear. But no matter, he still has to die.
" Any last words?" I'm gonna let him say goodbye to whoever he wants.
" Go to..." he doesn't get to finish. I stab him in the heart and his cannon fires.
The trumpets blare loud and clear. " Ladies and gentlemen, may I present to you, the Victor of the 74th annual hunger games! Clove!"
I see the hovercraft coming in the distance.
I won.
The end.
( in case you haven't guessed, Foxface ate nightlock like in the book, because she knew she had little to no chance of winning. Also I hope the bit with Cato, asking Clove to finish him off, makes sense. Please review, tell me what you think of the story)
