"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone - we find it with another." - Thomas Merton, Love and Living

Chaeyoung is clothed with her pajamas and her hair is messed up around her head. She walks down the street lazily, slashing her slippers on the rough concrete. Her eyes looked dead, it looked like it had not closed for a long time. She looked pale. Some of her bones are showing because of how thin she appears. Just everything about her, shouts frailty and chaos. She's deeply remorseful by the fact that she could've done better in life, that she wouldn't be in this situation if the gods had given her enough time to cope up with the things that befell upon her.

She's tired, that's for sure. She doesn't know if it's just her unwillingness to live that drags everything down from the pit. Or is it because the pandemic struck them that made her like this? Her college life is getting out of hand. Her suicidal thoughts are dangerously increasing and anytime now, it may take a toll on her. Self-harming has become more frequent. Old cuts got covered with new ones not long after. This is the very evidence that she doesn't want to live anymore and unfortunately for her, the only thing that's stopping her is the burning hell down there.

From the past few days, she's been failing to receive any kind of love and affection. Just anything good that may add to her life span or at least, to make her feel less lonely is nowhere to be found. She can't receive such desire because their country is on freaking lockdown. Nothing but tiredness was she receiving and all she can do about her unwanted loneliness is to break down.

She doesn't mind now if she gets the virus because who'd care? Her parents left her anyway and she's just hanging with one hand for her life, trying to survive.

She just kept walking 'til her feet brought her to the end of a bridge. The lights are calming. It made her feel at peace. The fact that this road doesn't get driven upon much by vehicles makes it all better.

She walked to the sidewalk and stopped almost in the middle. Leaning at the rails, she sighed and smiled out of satisfaction with eyes, spitting fluids.

For the millionth time, she thought, maybe things are bound to end. And maybe..that happens now. With this rather unfrequented place, no one's going to stop her.

But for now, she wants to enjoy the cold breeze that the late afternoon is being bestowed upon her while looking at the sun, meeting its horizon.

Mina, on the other hand, is so much the opposite of Chaeyoung. She has almost everything. She's doing great in academics. She's grateful for her parents because they are not one to pressure her. They are proud of whatever Mina has and will become. She's wonderfully created inside and out.

People may say that she herself is the embodiment of perfection and so is her life but Mina has to disagree with that.

Somewhere at the surface of her life, she can fumble around that something is missing in her life and she can't seem to point it out because everything around her seems to be doing well. It bugs her almost every time.

She's not searching for any romance in her life as of now as she feels it is needless. That's what she thought. So, she really wonders what's this feeling within her right now that's troubling her.

Sometimes, she feels lonely and isolated. Like a tumbleweed in a desert. A tree in the middle of an empty field, left withering. Thirsty of something that she doesn't know what is. Even on days that she should be happy, she's questionably the opposite. A part of her is lingering around with nothingness, desperately asking for something to be out of it. Slowly, her other fine fragments are being consumed with the same feeling. Wallowing her whole existence with void.
